The 3-6 #Pistons are in Memphis to take on the 8-1 Grizzles for the second game of a back-to-back to finish off their road trip Saturday night. Detroit is coming off a much-needed win in Oklahoma City Friday night, while the Grizzlies are rolling and currently on an 18 game home regular season winning streak.
The good:
- The Grizzlies, who are tied with Houston for the best record in the NBA. They rallied from 26 points down to top the Kings on Thursday night.
- Brandon Jennings, who’s playing like he’s got something to prove after a slow start to the season. Jennings 29 in the Pistons 96-89 victory Friday night.
The bad: Just when you think Caldwell-Pope is coming around, he goes 3-for-10 and 1-for-6 from downtown.
The unknown: Do Pistons fans still miss Tayshaun Prince, who’s not the Grizzlies small forward? Tayshaun in averaging 21 minutes and 6.4 points off the bench for Memphis. We remember him like this.
Injuries
Pistons:: Gigi Datome and Cartier Martin are doubtful (or more like doubtful they’ll get any playing time). Jodie Meeks is out.
Grizzlies: Nick Calathes (Suspended List) is OUT
Fact: Greg Monroe averaged 17.5 against the Grizzlies last season.
Fact: Detroit has lost eight consecutive games to Memphis and four straight on the road
Tip off is at 8:00 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Detroit . If you can’t catch the game on TV, catch it on the radio over at Detroit Sports 105.1.
