The 2-3 #Pistons host the 2-4 Utah Jazz Sunday evening at The Palace Auburn Hills. Detroit will go for their third consecutive win against a Jazz team that they haven’t had much success against in years past.
The good: Caldwell-Pope and his shot are coming around. Kentavious was the lead scorer with 19 for Detroit in their win against the Bucks.
The bad:
- The Pistons inability to close out games convincingly, something that has plagued the team for some time.
- Josh Smith’s shooting: Smith is shooting just 32.1 percent, including 0 for 9 from 3-point range. He’s also hit only 48.6 percent from the free throw line after going 4 for 10 in Friday’s 98-95 win over the bucks. Remember I’ll be right where I should be tonight at The Palace.
The unknown: Will this be another comparison battle against Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Trey Burke? Pistons fans are still up in arms of the the Caldwell-Pope pick over the Michigan favorite Burke. Cam KCP start proving he was the right choice?
Injuries
Pistons:: Gigi Datome and Cartier Martin are doubtful (or more like doubtful they’ll get any playing time). Jodie Meeks is out.
Jazz: Rodney Hood – TBD
Fact:Utah is 53-33 all-time against Detroit.
Fact: Andre Drummond averaged 14.5 points and 13.5 rebounds against the Jazz last season.
Fact: Trey Burke averaged 17.5 points against the Pistons last season.
