The 23-36 #Pistons will host the 21-39 New York Knicks Monday night at the Palace of Aubrun Hills. The Knicks come into the Palace losers of their last six games, while Detroit have lost their last four.
The good: The Knicks are playing just about as bad as the Pistons are of late, so this is a great chance for Detroit to get back on track.
The bad: It doesn’t take a genius to realize that the Pistons are horrible on the defensive end but when you read the statistics it makes you feel even worse. They are ranked among the league’s worst, allowing 103.7 points per game, it’s been getting worse in the past few games. Their last seven opponents have averaged 112.3 points while shooting 49.6 percent. Turrrrrrable
Pistons: Chauncey Billups (left knee surgery) is out.
Knicks: Andrea Bargnani and Kenyon Martin are out.
Stat: Detroit is 1-1 against the New York Knicks this season.
Stat: Carmelo Anthony is averaging 29.5 points against the Pistons this season.
Tip off is at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Detroit . If you can’t catch the game on TV, catch it on the radio over at 97.1 The Ticket.

phrases like “I developed a relationship with the owner, who lives in LA. We have conversations.” make me wonder
why so harsh on Isiah Thomas as GM? there are some negatives but can we escape the potential this could create. Isiah does have basketball IQ and like Dumar’s he might be able to model a team that fits a positive character trait. Dumar’s was sharp and successful in bringing team guys with that Hardhat / BlueCollar mentality. it did work for 6 straight years… Dumar’s built a solid “team”..
Isiah as GM…No. Just No. Please, for the love of crumbcake, just no. This likely won’t happen. But if it does, I may just cry. Actually I’m 99% sure I will cry.
This Isiah Thomas thing is frighteningly plausible, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. For a few reasons. I can honestly say that no matter who our GM is, I don’t see them fixing this mess any time soon. That said, I still think Dumars would be the worst possible candidate, since his track record has clearly demonstrated that he’s both completely out of touch and far too preoccupied with saving face. And since all of this team’s roster problems are on him, he’s going to put saving face (an impossible task in the first place) over saving the team.
That said, Isiah would be just about my second to last choice, since at least he wouldn’t have ownership of any of the problems here, and he would at least be aggressive. This team doesn’t do anything but make mistakes and watch them fester, so I’d prefer someone who has the guts to pull the trigger on a Monroe trade, which I believe Isiah would. Still, my top choice is anyone who isn’t a former Piston with a name Gores recognizes.
just enjoy this game against the nicks. we are better than them but worse than the bobcats so we are losing the pick. But there’s no reason to get depressed we could be the nicks. Just have to enjoy the games we can win.
