The 18-27 #Pistons will host the 15-32 Philadelphia 76ers Saturday evening at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The Pistons have a good chance of getting another win after ending their losing streak with a win over the Magic Tuesday night at home against a Philadelphia team that’s lost five of their last six against Detroit.
The good: The Pistons are 2-0 against the 76ers this season and Andre Drummond dominates when up against Philadelphia. Drummond is averaging 21 points and 15 boards against then in their tw0 contests this season.
The bad: The Pistons don’t seem to play well when they have extended breaks, and the fact that they haven’t won two in a row at home since the beginning of the season.
Nothing to do with Saturday’s game against the Sixers, but the fact that Andre Drummond got dissed for an All Star spot is shameful.
Detroit is stuck with Josh Smith.
Watch out for Thaddeus Young who’s averaging 23 against Detroit this season.
The unknown: Can the Pistons start taking advantage of teams that they should beat?
Injuries:
Pistons: None
Sixers: Brandon Davies , Arnett Moultrie and Nerlens Noel are out.
Stat: Andre Drummond recorded his first career 20-point, 20-rebound game with 21 points and a career-high 20 rebound vs.New Orleans (1/24). Drummond became the first piston with a 20-20 game since Antonio McDyess vs. New York (3/11/09).
Stat: Neither team has swept a season series since Detroit won all three games in 2005-06.
Tip off is at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Detroit . If you can’t catch the game on TV, catch it on the radio over at 97.1 The Ticket.
If you’re heading out to the game tonight, drive safe.
I know it’s just the 6ers but a game like this, it seems like we have two superstars greg monroe and andre drummond, just eating the other team alive. The rest of the team is meh, but our two young bigs are wrecking everything in sight. I’d like to give 10 of Jenning’s attempts over to Moose and Andre. Josh has been playing a much more controlled game for hmmm the last month or so. Very suspicious of him like he’s trying to get me to like him or something.
Nothing like a nice relaxing game against a team even more terrible than you are to brighten the day.
The thing about Brandon Jennings is I like so much about him, I love his bad attitude, I like his insane handle, I like how he can generate assists. But he has to quit shooting so much. Unfortunately he’s a bit too old to learn how to do that.
Four players scored 20 points for the Pistons including Dre, BJ, Moose and Singler. Kyle got a double/double playing 35 minutes off the bench. KCP scored double figures. Detroit needs to a winning streak now.
Gores in town from La la land. Shake up or trade in the works?
Billups needs to rub off some of his old Detroit form on Jennings. That was the primary reason for getting him back in my opinion. I hope and pray that they keep Dre and Moose. I would go for a Jeff Green or a Gordon Hayward at the 3 (which of course means shipping out Smith). Our bigs are set, we just need either: a) For Singler or KCP to play consistently enough with satisfactory outside shooting to earn regular starter’s minutes, or b) Trade for a good 3 with an outside shot.
