The Pistons vs. The Magic

The 17-27 #Pistons will host the 12-33 Orlando Magic Tuesday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The Magic have won seven of the last ten matchups at home, but have dropped 13 of the last 17 at Detroit. Detroit on the other hand is an abysmal 7-15 at home.

The good: Ex Piston Arron Afflalo, who having a career year. Afflalo led the Magic with 23 points against the Pistons on 12/27.
Andre Drummond won’t have to deal with Vučević, who had an outstanding game against Dre the last time these two teams met.
The bad: The four game losing streak is getting old fast.  Detroit’s defense has been terrible as well as their outside shooting.  The Pistons are still the NBA’s worst 3-point shooting team at 30.7 percent, and 52.9 percent of Detroit’s baskets come off assists for one of the NBA’s lowest marks.

Maurice Cheeks “We can get a lot better guarding the ball and that’s one thing we have to do because it puts so much pressure on our big guys,”

Brandon Jennings likes the ball in his hands. He is among the NBA leaders with an average of 7.3 minutes of possession.

Josh Smith’s is terrible at shooting.
The unknown: Can Detroit finally win one at home?  Will I brave the cold and head out to a game that may put me in a turrrrable mood?
Injuries: Pistons: None
Ronnie Price – Out
Nikola Vučević – Out

Stat: Andre Drummond recorded his first career 20-point, 20-rebound game with 21 points and a career-high 20 rebound vs.New Orleans (1/24). Drummond became the first piston with a 20-20 game since Antonio McDyess vs. New York (3/11/09).
Stat: Orlando is 39-51 all-time vs. Detroit (26-19 at home, 13-32 on the road).
Stat: Detroit has won 13 of the last 17 home games against Orlando.

Tip off is at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Detroit . If you can’t catch the game on TV, catch it on the radio over at 97.1 The Ticket.

Watching Aaron Afflalo always depresses me. I wish the Pistons would have held on to him.

Basketball Jesus says “Don’t shoot the jump shot Josh. Go to the hoop hard.”

I wish Josh would listen more to basketball jesus instead of basketball satan.

pistons are playing good, brandon is trying on defense josh is staying away from the 3’s (too many long 2’s but hey improvement is the word), dre is engaged in the game, can’t ask for a better opponent to put us back on track. The last thing this team needs is another blowout win and a player mutiny. I see datome in the garbage minutes you can tell stuckey and jorts really want this guy to succeed but gosh he looks like a guy headed back to italy next year.

this team needs a shooter. Actually with our bigs we could use 3 shooters. like i said datome doesnt have an nba game. And KCP is not the guy at least not right now, maybe in a few years.

by the way, if there is any question about how stupid josh smith is, did you see last night when he tried to take the technical free throw, so jennings had to run past him in order to take it instead? Josh figured he was on fire so he should take it.
