The 9-10 #Pistons in Chicago to take on the 8-9 Bulls Saturday night. Detroit would love to extend their three-game winning streak on the last game of their road trip before returning to The Palace of Auburn Hills Sunday to take on the Miami Heat who they beat in Miami on Tuesday night.
The good: The Pistons have looked sharp in their last three games making their outside shots, while playing with confidence and chemistry on their longest winning streak of the season.
The bad: The Bulls are among the league leaders in field-goal percentage defense which doesn’t bode well for a Pistons team that has struggled with their outside shooting. Chicago has dominated the Pistons of late winning nine out of their last ten. To make things even worse the Bulls have taken the last 14 regular season meetings in Chicago by an average of 11 points. Chicago held the Pistons to a season-low 26 second-half points on November 27th.
The unknown: Chauncey Billups returned to practice on Friday is close to a return. He is still listed as day-to-day and Will Bynum is doubtful with his left adductor strain. Can the Pistons keep the ball rolling with a win against the Bulls, especially with the Heat looming at the Palace less than 24 hours later?
Stat: Andre Drummond still leads the NBA in field goal percentage with 64.6%
Fact: Andre Drummond joined Shaquille O’Neal as the only players in NBA history to record 18-plus rebounds in three consecutive games at the age of 20 or younger.
Fact: Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond became the first Pistons teammates to record 17-plus rebounds in the same game since Bill Laimbeer (20) and Dennis Rodman (17) vs. Denver (2/13/90).
Tip off is at 8:00 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Detroit . If you can’t catch the game on TV, catch it on the radio over at 97.1 The Ticket.
Brandon Jennings?
SWAG!
That’s all I got to say.
yeah i was gonna say that, when jennings is in gear hes just nasty. cold blooded.
WERE at 500 baby WOOOOOT WOOOT
The Pistons have done something they have not done in a long time which is win in Chicago.
BJ lead Detroit with 33 pts. Singler and Jorts scored double figures off the bench. Better 3 pt shooting, rebounding and defense the key for the latest winning streak for the Pistons. 4th place in the East.
Jorts had a nice game in limited minutes (10 pts/5 RB/3 blocks). He is going to keep CV31 on the bench permanently if he keeps hitting 3 pt shots and playing smart B ball like he has been this season for the Pistons. With Billups and Bynum coming back soon, Siva may be going to D ball to work on his game. I am surprised Gigi is not getting playing time but his defense is suspect and Singler is playing/shooting well right now. I think Cheeks is going to go with the current starters and a bench rotation of Stuckey/Singler/Jorts/CB or Bynum
What about JJ?
JJ seems to be in the Cheeks doghouse along with Gigi and CV. Jorts will likely the first big man off the bench in this latest rotation.
I’m OK with that, I like Jorts! And the less CV I see the better. JJ seems to have issues cracking the rotation the past few season, maybe there is something we don’t know.
jerebko is just not playing good enough to get minutes. Sad because I like him a lot but what can you do.
