The Pistons vs The Bucks

The 5-8 #Pistons are back home to play a the second game of a back-to-back against the 2-10 Milwaukee Bucks Monday night. Detroit could be starting a roll after their 109-97 win in Brooklyn Sunday afternoon. The Bucks are prime for the taking being that they are the heels of their worst losing streak in 16 years.

  • The good: Mr. Rodney Stuckey has turned into the best player on the Pistons team putting them on his back and keeping them in game. Andre Drummond’s new jump hook is pretty awesome too, keep and eye out for it.  The Pistons won 3-of-4 against the Bucks last season and seven of their last 12.
  • The bad: The Pistons new acquisitions Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings have been a disappointment this season. The organization was hoping the two would put this team over the top, but they’ve each regressed this season. Jennings, who will play his former team for the first time Monday night, averaged 17.0 points and 5.7 assists in four seasons with the Bucks.
  • The unknown:  It’s still not known if Chauncey Billups or Will Bynum will be back, they are each still listed as day-to-day.

Stat: Andre Drummond still leads the NBA in field goal percentage with 66.4%
Fact: Greg Monroe averaged 17.0 points and 10.5 rebounds in four games against Milwaukee last season.
Fact: Khris Middleton, who’s now in Milwaukee after the Brandon Jennings for Brandon Knight trade scored a career high 20 in the Bucks last game.

Pistons are currently dead LAST in the NBA from 3 point land at 28%.
In order to win someone has to step up and hit some shots from downtown when open and force less shots when they are not. JJ and Gigi are in Cheek`s doghouse, KCP shots are not dropping. BJ and JSmoove are just not great 3 pt shooters. CV31 hit from 3 pt land but sucks at defense. Which means Singler will be getting more PT for his outside shooting. GO PISTONS!

Actually BJ is a decent 3 pt shooter will a career average of over 33% from 3 pt land but his shots are just not dropping this year. It seems like the whole team is under performing from 3 pt land except for Stuckey and Bynum who are way above their career average. Hopefully Jennings will start heating up soon.

I disagree that Brandon Jennings has been a disappointment. Other than his shooting percentage and those turnovers, I think he’s shown more potential. I mean, look at his assist numbers.

Blow out W for the Pistons against the hapless Bucks. Seven Pistons in double figures. Another double/double for BJ. Leading scorer was Stuckey again. Even CV31 scored double figures. Pistons shot well (45%) from 3 point land for a change. First winning streak of the young season.

KCP had a good game against the Bucks after a couple of bad games. Hopefully KCP and BJ have their confidence back in their shot and will give the Pistons a threat from 3 point land, which they not had so far this season. A .500 record will be good enough to get into the playoffs in the EAST. Next win at home against the Bulls.
On a side note , Khris Middleton has turned into a decent NBA player.
