The Pistons vs. The Lakers

The 3-5 #Pistons are in Los Angeles to take on the 4-7 Lakers Sunday night. Detroit will try to end their West coast trip with a win in LA against a struggling Lakers team that has dropped their last two games.

  • The good:This could be just the kind of game that the Pistons need, the Lakers give up an average of 104 per game, ranking near the bottom (as does Detroit) of the league. If Andre, Greg and Josh Smith have halfway decent games Detroit is sure to come out of this game with a victory.
  • The bad:Detroit has lost seven of the last eight games against the Lakers, but this Lakers team hasn’t been able to get things together without Kobe Bryant. The Pistons aren’t exactly sparkling on the defensive end giving up and average of 110 points on their four game losing streak.
  • The unknown:The question that many Pistons fans have been asking is how the minutes are getting divided up. Jonas seems to be buried, Datome is barely getting any playing time and most would like to see more KCP, especially after his solid performance against the Kings. The biggest questions is will we see Pistons owner Tom Gores court side in LA and will he be dancing after a Pistons victory?

I like the Cheek`s current rotation of Moose, Dre, JSmoove, Jennings,KCP, Stuck and Gigi/Singler. This gives the Pistons are nice combo of defense, rebounding and some scoring off the bench.
I predict another W on the road for the D.

I found it hard not to punch a hole in my TV screen watching the last 15 minutes of this game. Terrible defense. LA had somebody wide open on every play. Meanwhile cheeks stands there with his thumb up his butt. He better change something up quick. His lineups and the defense is pissing me off. Never should of lost this game. #FireCheeks

double figures points for all the starters except for KCP. Double figures for Stuck also off the bench. Yet another double/double for Dre. Singler had only 2 pts during 20 minutes of PT. Gigi needs to play more minutes for sure.
Bad second half by the Pistons killed the chances for a win in LA LA land. Defense needs to improve big time.
