The Pistons vs. The Rockets

by | Oct 31, 2012 | 4 comments

The 0-0 #Pistons will start the 2012-2013 NBA season at the Palace of Auburn Hills as they host the Houston Rockets.  It’s going to be a different Houston team than last season.  The new look Rockets just acquired 6th man of the year James Harden, from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, two first-round picks and a second-rounder.  Don’t forget that they also picked up Jeremy Lin this off season.

Don’t worry, the Pistons have a new dynamic duo to contend with in Andre Drummond and soon to be All Star Greg Monroe.

  • The good: Opening night at the Palace of Auburn Hills
  • The bad: Houston has beaten Detroit in eight of the last 10, six of the last seven and three in a row, including last season’s lone matchup in Houston.
  • The unknown: Who’s going to have a big game for the Pistons? Will Tom Gores be in the house trying to get noticed to be asked to audition  for a Dancing with the Stars?

Tip off is at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports . If you can’t catch the game on TV, catch it on the radio over at 97.1 the Ticket.

Don’t forget your November Schedule Wallpaper featuring Greg Monroe!

I like our chances at home against the Rockets despite the Harden trade.
I see us winning most of our home games and losing most of our road games. I think we will be about .500 this year and just miss the playoffs.
I think Frank will give Andre the Giant more and more playing time as the year goes on and he will be a Palace crowd favorite.
Which means one last lottery pick for Joe D. to pick before we lose our 1 pick from the BG trade.

You can’t be .500 in the east and miss the playoffs. Nor is it likely that they win most home games and lose most road, maybe they’ll have a better home record, but unlikely its the onesided

If this is the kind of Stuckey were gonna have, we have a problem. We expect him to be the leader.

Yeah wow. Poor shooting night by Stuckey. Pistons played so well in the third and then then fourth quarter came…
