The 12-25 #Pistons are in Memphis to take on the 21-15 Grizzlies. Memphis has won three straight and nine of 11 after dropping seven of the previous nine.
- The good: Greg Monroe and his 19 points and career high 20 boards.
- The bad: The Grizzlies have owned the matchup of late, winning four in a row by an average of 13.0 points. The last on Jan. 20, winning 98-81 at Detroit behind 24 points from Gay.
- Who to watch:Rudy Gay, Greg Monroe and Rodney Stuckey.
- The unknown: Can Detroit finally have some success against a solid Memphis team?

Because thats what Pistons have been for past couple of years, now more than before – terrible team with lot of talent.
We have Monroe and Knight now, which is good. But every time Pistons seem to go forward as a team, they take several steps back again. Like those loses with Cavs, Raps, 30 point loss to Philly… We need those missing peaces badly.
This was a good game for the pistons. The griz are a team that the pistons could be, not just some day but later this year if Joe D makes a few moves. They have excellent defense, team basketball, and a solid bench. The pistons were in the game for 3 quarters, and I felt that especially Knight might have learned a lot from this game.
Lost power yesterday and still haven’t gotten cable or Internet back. Did I miss The Pistons learning something or a third quarter collapse?
no way, it wasn’t a 3rd quarter collapse, pistons dont do that.
it was 4th quarter collapse just like usual 🙂
We had guys shooting a crapload of shots. Stuckey with 22, Knight 16, and Monroe 12. Not one of those three shot better than 33% in addition to that.

Ok, you guys,it’s obvious where we are…
But what does it take to turn this team around? I mean, we’ve been looking this more than less for about three years… With some positive flashbacks…
And only positive side is that now we have Greg and Brandon.
One more draft, yes, but we need some action from Joe D! It’s obvious his free agent signings were busts… And we haven’t seen a trade for years…
Pistons have gone the longest time than any other team in the league without a trade.
The calapse was because we could stop them for periods but not score in the mean time! We need a difference maker on the offensive end! Just let this season play out hopefully we’ll get a top 5. Maybe land someone who can create their own shot. and maybe ship out BG & CV. Everyone wants Joe to pull the trigger on a trade but what do we have that some other team with reasonable sense would want right now not named Monroe, Knight or Stuckey? Teams going to the playoffs are trying to improve not get worse and with CV,BG or Wilkins(lol) they most definetly will! Be patient REAL PISTONS FANS!
I think that BG is too short for a SG in the modern NBA and CV31 needs to play to see how he fits with this roster. Wallace, and Walker will not be in the NBA next year. Wilkins, Bynum and Daye will most likely be gone next year.
We will likely get anywhere from a number 4 – 10 lottery pick in the next draft.
Which means one of the following big men will be in a Pistons uni next year.
Sullinger, a Zeller brother, M. Leonard or a underachieving Perry Jones or a underachieving Andre Drummond.
For a second round pick I would take the best tall SG available to replace Gordon.
Gores will have to give Joe some cash and let go of the reins so he can sign some FA to replace the bums that I mentioned that should not return.
Bynum has been absolutely great off the bench through his career here, he would be a solid addition to any team as a strong drive to the rim backup point guard. This year he has been zero because of injuries.
We have a good back court right now, Stuckey and Knight.
We need a small forward (Prince is a veteran presence if you think this means complaining at the refs, sucking and 1 on 1 isos), we need another big for monroe, and we need a backup big after wallace retires.
+ one more big cause Maxiell will want his 5 mil. check next year… 😉
So it’s the leauge’s weakest frontcourt – Wallace& Maxiell
But hey CV is coming back. 😀
Next 10 opponents only have a couple teams that have a losing record.
Maybe CV31 will be back for the Lakers game tomorrow?

Vernon M. would be a cheap alternative to Big Ben as a backup to Moose.
CV31 could be part of the PF rotation along with JJ unless they decide to amnesty him and start over with some other veteran. Bynum still has another year on his contract ($3 million/yr) so he will probably be back as a backup.
Maxiell has an option year with the Pistons next year so it is possible he will be back but doubt it.
Next year you may see several new faces for the Pistons besides the rookies that make the team.
