It’s Drafty in Here

So it’s been a while…

Need4Sheed faithfuls know that this is the time I usually take my yearly hiatus.  I reflect on the season, take a break and pan out things to come.

This season it’s a bit different.

We have a new owner, no coach, no real idea of who the Pistons are going to draft Thursday, and no idea who will be returning to the Palace.

I say change is good people! It’s been a tough road with the whole “situation” that went down last season, but it can only get better.  Gores is no Bill Davidson, but he does look
like he’s going to take some interest into make this team a contender.  He’s all about big business and he’s not going to let this investment get the best of him.

The other thing we need to consider is that our beloved Joe D really needs to make this ship right…fast.  He’s made some bad decisions in the past, but I honestly think the

ownership situation tied his hands most of last season.  He’s got to have some magic left in that bag, or sadly his bags may be shipped elsewhere.

I don’t know the “sexy” choice for coach is, but I know plenty of Pistons fans would love to see Bill taking the reigns.  We tend to cherish the good old days here in the D.

However I will tell you that I have a feeling if the Pistons hire Lawrence Frank, I’m going to wear out my latest version of Photoshop.

And all I can think about when I hear Kelvin Sampson is the “Sampson” Chapelle character from Half Baked.

Don’t forget a lot is riding on this draft too. Are we going to have the Jonas Brothers playing for us?  Will we have a new crop of Bismack Biyombo jersey’s in the Palace Locker Room store?  If anything…. Biyombo will make for some interesting chatter here at Need4Sheed.

It’s not going to be Jimmer is it?

There is also the second round to think about.  Detroit has two picks  and don’t forget those picks aren’t significant.  You do remember Need4Swede was a second rounder that none of us saw coming.

And lets not forget the possibility of a trade.  We could see someone go, or the possibly moving draft positions.

So…let’s do this.

Wish list this one in the comments and Follow me and Danny on Twitter.

I’m Live Tweeting this Draft, like it or not!

I actually feel like this right now….

I think that we should take either Marcus Morris or Tristan Thompson. On the one hand Marcus will bring spacing to the floor so the team can operate and he is NBA ready now. I know Austin is the future SF for the team but personally its a make or break season for him. Also Marcus could share the minutes it would be a good one to push. Jonas is going to be the PF of the future with the added muscle he gain I think he will do well. If we go Thompson he will totally help on the defensive side and give the team added possessions on the offensive end. Jonas and Tristan could play together too, by moving Jonas down to the 3 spot they will give team big problems on both ends of the floor. Finally for the coach spot I like Wooden and Frank either one will really help the team. I Big thing they need to stress on the first day is Respect, Communication, and last but NOT least DEFENSE!! Also stop doing so much one on five its not working TEAM wins the game NOT ONE PERSON look at Dallas.. Thanks Natalie for letting me vent lol..

ill be happy with either morris twins, kanter although not likely, valunciunas even though we wont get him till next season, and maybe maybe vesely. if we dont get one of them they better be a sleeper all-star (biyombo?).

The Pistons need a coach that has played the game and is know for being a player. Young players need someone they can look up to and believe in what they are preaching. It may be sad, but young players dont really care about how mant basketball books u have read. If they have never heard of u putting in work on the court, they will NOT respesct u because they think they know more than u. Rodney Stuckey’s future lies in the hands of his next coach. Or he will end up being another Smush Parker.

just cuase u were a player does not mean u get the respect and attention of the players, u remember a coach by the name of curry right? he even played WITH some of the pistons and they still didnt care. but i do agree with you on the stuckey comment, as great as stuckey is and could be he does need that coach there to show him the way.

i’m not feeling the twins but i like Thompson, but i am also interested in Biyombo because we have Big Ben who can mentor him, but I also heard little hints of Kemba Walker. He may be a little over hyped but it would be “sexy” choice that would sell tickets. It is wide open, but i think we need to start thinking about trades.

u guys read my link above? u should if the pistons could draft thompson at 8 trade to the bobcats for the 9 and 19 pick that would be a steal we could then get at 9 marcus\biyombo and at 19 get markieff\vucevic\darius morris. that would be a coup by joe d if i ever seen one cuase we would still get the guy we want (unless we really want thompson) and get an extra pick out of it;.

Lol I knew someone would bring up Curry. Curry was never a player with respectable game. A arrogant hound player like Stuckey (I’m never scared) don’t respect a guy that theyfeel was never any good.

Knight is an interesting pick and I wonder how he will mesh with Stuckey.

I think frank would be a horrible choice. They didn’t listen to or respect all these other guys, but this pipsqueek white guy is going to command their respect? Please. They will eat him alive. I would rather have Woodson, Sampson, or even Bill.
