The Pistons vs. The Raptors

The 7-17 Pistons will host the 8-15 Raptors Saturday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The Raptors come into the Palace on a three game losing streak, while Detroit is on a three game skid themselves and losers of 7 of their last 8.

The Raptors did a number on Detroit last season sweeping the season series 4-0.

The good for Detroit, the Raptors are struggling defensively over the last four games, allowing an average of 119.0 points with opponents shooting 52.1 percent from the floor and 45.0 from 3-point range.

Look for good friend and former Piston Amir Johnson to show up his former teammates, just like he did last season in his return to the Palace.

How come Charlie Brown’s father wont let his player’s play their natural positions and just use Monroe & Wilcox at Center and leave Ben at PF. It jus makes sense!!!

By allowing themselves to blow a 25-point lead, the Pistons didn’t deserve to win that game.

Even the Lions look better than that.

    Wow. Just wow.

20 from Big Ben. 70 in the first half. Up 25 with 5 to go in the third. All of this against a bad team. And we lost.

    Just horrible.

I’m stunned. I thought the Chicago game was a once ever two season game. Then, this happened. It was even worse. At least the Bulls were in Chicago and are a decent team. The Raptors suck.

How did we turn the ball over SO many times and not defend them once?

I just cancelled my plan of ordering another pistons merchandise after this game. The entire team suck. Big game from Big Ben though.

just as I thought.. the Pistons need to be up by 50 points to win by 1 at the end of the game. so frustrating.

Sorry, still stunned. Really, I should have seen this coming. Quite simply, we took advantage of the fact that Toronto couldn’t hold onto the basketball, and our fastbreaks were terrific. Then, we showed our potential with a low post scorer.

Our defence couldn’t stop anything – any time the Raptors didn’t turn the ball over, it seemed like they scored. So in the fourth when they stopped turning the ball over, and we helped them out by turning the ball over ourselves once a minute in those first six minutes, the Raptors stormed in for the lead.

If you want the number one pick, you are not supposed to make it so obvious :). Honestly, this REALLY is rock bottom, and this may be the death of the season right here – if we had won, then we are still fighting for a playoff spot with the Raptors. Now, that gap is starting to open up.

This one may end up being the straw that breaks the camels back.
    Shocking really.
When the bench came on in the 3rd up by 25 or so it just fell apart completely.
    Bynum and Gordon were awful.
Monroe again played pretty well he is a bright spot.
Ben Wallace the old fella was tremendous. Props go out to him from Pistons nation!!
Will B can kiss his minutes goodbye after this performance he was the catalyst of the collapse.
Perhaps inserting T-mac for a few mins to try and get something as he was good early but didn’t see time late.
The comeback seemed to happen in minutes was blindingly fast.
And when it got tight in the end even with the starters back in they leave 3 point shooters wide open and they got punished.
Only so much Kuester can do from the bench. I am not his biggest fan by a long way but you cannot just lay this one at his feet. Not this time.

Tracy McGrady was apparently sore or injured hence why he didn’t return – we could have really used a cool head. I don’t understand Bynum’s struggles, he just looks reckless and inefficient. I remember talking about him possibly starting over Stuckey at the beginning of the year, but now I don’t think it would be a bad thing for him to sit a month out.

December 15 is almost here. That is when newly signed free agents can be traded – it would be really nice if Dumars has something in the works because its obvious that this team needs a shake-up just to spark them out of their lethargy.

All I want for Christmas is to see Richard Hamilton NEVER start another game for the Pistons again. EVER. Yes there’s a lot of people to blame for this debacle. But that one thing would just make the Pistons a better team now. I thought after last night it couldn’t possibly get worse. I was wrong.

Huh, he actually had a pretty big game last night. Otherwise I agree with you. I actually think Daye should start at SG, not Gordon.

The worst team right now in this league clearly with the worst character and a worst coach.

I put most of the blame on the coach. It’s all about rotation and holding your players accountable. You have a team full of scorers but yet the team can’t score because he over uses his starters and throws every player off. Last nights game started going bad in the end of third quarter at the 5 minute mark. He should have made some subs then but let the Raptors get going on a run. Throwing a cold. Bynum and Gordon in at the start of the fourth was not a good idea. Fire this coach.

i want q to rest big ben more! Holy cow, career high 23 points, this is a man who has been in the league forever, 1 three point attempt made, 2 for 4 from the free throw line, 14 rebounds, 4 assists.

Not sure why this pistons team doesn’t defend. They stand around like they are in the mormon tabernacle choir on defensee. Fellows you are allowed to move your feet on defense. Just saying.

When your opponents get 60+ percent from everywhere this means you are not moving your feet on defense. And it means you can’t hold a lead.

I dont blame the turnovers, the raptors had 18 turnovers we had 12. the truth is that our team is like the stay puffed marshmallow man. we are the softest team in the NBA.
