The 23-52 Pistons in Atlanta to face the 48-27 Hawks Saturday evening.
NBA.com Preview
Riddled with injuries to some key players in the final weeks of a frustrating season, Detroit (23-52) will miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2000-01 season. Making matters worse, the Pistons are mired in their longest losing stretch since dropping 13 in a row from Dec. 15-Jan. 11.
The Pistons haven’t won since a 101-87 victory over Washington – one of two teams worse than them in the Eastern Conference – on March 12.
Silver lining – The Pistons are just a game ahead of the Wizards and Warriors for the 3rd worst record in the NBA. What does that mean? More L’s = More Balls!

Eff that. More L’s = More balls = losing culture.
I don’t care how far out you are, you play every game like it matters, or else you have players that get it in their heads that not giving 100% is ok.
I agree with you Fluidics that if they purposely go out there and play bad it’s not good for them, but that doesn’t mean that I can hope that the other team wins them so they can get a better draft pick
As long as they give 100% i don’t see why I can’t root against them, there’s no point in wins right now anyway
BTW is there gonna be a new wallpaper for April? They’re extremely helpful!
Wins and losses are pretty irrelevant at the moment. Either way we need a lucky day come lottery day. The only thing that is of importance is to try and play basketball the way we want to play next year. Get guys like Gordon and Villanueva scoring and defending properly. Look for Bynum and Stuckey to improve. The only problem with that I suppose is that some players might not be here next season. Oh well, lottery day is getting closer and closer.
I’m trying to think of a “V” word that means soft and feminine – like Charlie V’s D – or should I say Charlie V’s V? Dude makes Kwame look legit.
We could win against Philli and Minnesota but that’s about it for the remainder. Fire John Kuester, i personally hate him. Get Avery Johnson next year please!
You couldn’t get Johnson this year because we go through too many coaches, how would firing another one, and having a much worse team, be any help?
If Avery wanted to coach Detroit, he would have come at the beginning of the season. It was said that Detroit wasn’t offering enough money, but I think he didn’t want to ruin his winning % by coaching a bad team. Q hasn’t done anything wrong. If we give BG and CV a chance to come back next season and prove us wrong, then surely Q gets the same pass.
We can’t keep going through coaches. The coaching instability in Detroit the past few years has been a big contributor to Detroit’s current play. Stability in coaching can only benefit the team.
Actually we should have kept Carlisle probably or even Flip Saunders. The players are fickle and the inmates are running the asylum. Joe D should stick by his coach with a a constancy that displays his loyalty. Why would anyone come to the D to be a scape goat for a bad team? Shit rolls down hill but the fish rots from the head – that head is Joe D – and he should not get a pass forever.
2 losing seasons after a decade of dominance – c’mon Diogenes, the Pistons were due to have some bad times, can’t blame it all on Joe D.
Couldn’t keep Carlisle remember, he left for Reggie and the Pacers. Brown left as well. Saunders had three years of making the ECF with a team that should be playing the finals so it was time to try something new. Curry just was Curry. Coaches know they have to perform with what roster they are given
Carlisle was fired. Brown was fired too. They didn’t leave.
We can’t get Avery Johnson. He works for ESPN now.
