The 17-32 Detroit Pistons are in Milwaukee to take on the 23-26 Bucks on the first game of a back to back before the All-Star break. Milwaukee has won five of six games to move within percentage points of Miami for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Before we talk about anything, I have to mention the Trade Rumors that are going around. Via MLive

February 8, Arizona Republic: Possibilities with Philadelphia could be stronger with two fronts, a deal between bringing in swingman Andre Iguodala for Stoudemire with perhaps young power forward Marreese Speights or a three-way deal involving Detroit with Pistons guard Ben Gordon winding up in Philadelphia and the Suns getting Iguodala and Detroit power forward Chris Wilcox. The rub with Iguodala, a 26-year-old former Arizona star, is inheriting a contract that will pay him $56.5 million over the next four seasons.

Ben Gordon? Really?  I see just about anyone but Gordon and Stuckey likely to be traded, but that’s just me.

BG has an awful contract so does RIP and Wilcox. I’m ok with a trade like this one, I think if we had Amar’e instead of BG from the beginning, we could be higher in the conf.
What will Amar’e do with his contract?
by the way, i heard BG said this trade is just a rumoras he think

with the rumors floating around to be honest i woul be fine with taking amare if it means we can get rid of ben gordon and kwame. That’s like perfect. Only person I would miss is Wilcox and Amare’s attitude and selfishness could be a cancer in the lockerroom

Gordon and Stuke both need to be traded. Stuckey is no Point Guard and Ben Gordon is no where close to being worth what he is being paid. I am tired of losing and both those guys need to go. We would have been better off if we would have kept Chauncey and traded Stuckey somewhere.

Yep, with Rip declining like he is, I’d be really shocked to see Gordon go. Amere is no picnic either.

stuckey is a really good player and should be starting for us. Our team right now has no peremiter d, and no post presence we got problems on both offense and defense.

Fortunately the bucks have the worst 3 shooters in the league. I think we’ll win this because their whole team could spot up at the 3 and we don’t have to guard them there we can just wait in the paint.

All of our team has solid NBA players the players arent the problem. The problem is that Joe D spent twice as much on each of our top 6 player as he should have. We are spending roughly $60 for our top 6 players when their real value is $30 million.

I wouldn’t mind having this exact same roster . . . but with this team we should have had $35 left over and still be in the hunt for next year’s free agency class.

Are you kidding me? Don’t trade BG and Rodney, plus they just won, rodney scoring 18 along with BG, we need both of them and with a great win like this one tonight we will be the new and improved Pistons. My only Problem is Charlie V, i mean some nights hes good but some nights he doesnt score anything like tonight and i think he got like 4 fouls, wow, trade him for someone of value.
    GO DETROIT.

What’s with all the negativity on a night we’ve won (and on the road).

Btw, player of the night = Jason Maxiell.

ummm, with this trade rumor, are they saying that we would acquire amare stoudamire? If so, then it seems like that just might be step forward for the pistons this season and next season. This season because he is a great talent and can help win some games. Next season because he has a huge contract that can clear up some money.

it would seem to make more sense to send Rip since he’s a native (a la Chaunce to Denver), but I could see them wanting BG instead since there might still be some bad blood with AI still on their roster. They are both still productive 2guards so I guess it comes down to how long they would want to be on the hook and chemistry.
