    That is very true.

I think Stuckey should keep the #3, though. Ben should take #30 or something like that if he wants to keep the 3’s in line.

Natalie, you’re a riot. this is so funny.

I love it that Ben reached out to Dumars to come back. This looks like a team now. I can’t wait for the season.

    It’s cool all right.
But you guys seem to overestimate Ben. He’s nothing but a shadow from the old days.

I love the image, Nat! I’m also, quite happy about getting Ben back for the price we did. I don’t expect him to be anything close to what he was, but who could we have resonably hoped for at that kind of price?

Who’s overestimating? My bar is set low for Ben, bu we weren’t going to get anyone better for that kind of money.

hahaha Nat. Thank’s for that giggle first thing in the morning.

I agree Richie and I’m also happy about the mentoring he brings for the new young guys. That was what was upsetting me most about trading almost all of our older players, losing that mentoring that the older crew can provide.

how does 33 sound? this way he has double the 3’s, and Stuck can keep his jersey the way it is…

This is disrespecting.. u dont forget how to play basketball.. and u also shouldnt forget the days when this guy was a beast and the best defensive player in the league . you got him for 1M per year.. He is a better defender than shaq n look at how shaq earns per year.. he deserves more imo.. just be happy cuz u will see some defense inside this year.. maybe not those athletic moves and blocks from the past.. but the big ben is always a presence on defense .. period

He won’t play starter minutes, so that shouldn’t really be a big issue.

We can certainly use some age/experience on a team with an average age of 25. I say the future looks bright.

Name one player better for that price?

I honestly believe we can get maybe 5 rebounds, 1 block, 2 points a game for 10-15 minutes a game from Big Ben. THIS IS AWESOME!!!!

    Reply
  37. Ross

You seem a little too pumped for numbers like that lol, but if he can rebound decently that will be good because as it is now, there isn’t many rebounders on the team.

  38. Darshan

well, since Jerebko is a rookie, he can change his number… he should have some respect for Big Ben, especially since he’s the “rookiest” of all the other players (he was drafted last this year)… i just think Stuck should keep his number, Big Ben’ll take 33, and Jonas will take something else… how bout 83… wasnt that CWEBB’s number

  39. Ryan

Chris Webber was #84 with the Pistons.

I understand what you’re saying, but it’s not like Ben actually had #33 before.

The terms Ben left on last time weren’t so good, either.

I definitely won’t expect him to have #33.

If we could get AI for 1.3 million I would say sign him immediately, otherwise, this comparison is fruitless

And “Hack A Ben” wasn’t even that much of an issue anyway. It’s not like a missed Wallace freethrow killed a championship or anything.

  43. Richie

Every play in a game matters. It’s not like one or two plays or free throws at the end of a game are all there is to it. No one shot really wins a game, or loses it. Most people don’t consider that.

This only goes to show that Ben will play for any team than nothing. He left us for better money before now he’s coming back just to save his career.

So, Nat- I’m curious. Will you be making a new Ben toon or just photoshopping the hair off the old one?

Love the post. Not sure how i feel about Ben Wallace, but for 1 million….worth a shot…makes me feel good that the Bulls paid him 15/yr.

Twelve million dollars to leave Detroit is a good business move by Ben Wallace. Moving Chauncey Billups was a good business move. When I read of how jilted people are with Ben Wallace for leaving I scratch my head. The guy is a four time all star, a four time defensive player of the year and an NBA champion. Anybody think he won’t make the hall of fame? Anyone think his number won’t be retired? Come on now. So many bitter haters out there.
