Pistons vs. Heat

The Pistons take on the 36-32 Miami Heat this afternoon at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Detroit will likely have Rodney Stuckey back, but Rip, Sheed and AI still have not solid date of return. Rip and Rasheed are expected back within a week, but there is no timetable for the return of Allen Iverson , who has missed Detroit’s last 12 games with a sore back. Call me a skeptic, but I’m still doubtful of his return to the team at all.

The Heat are now just 1 1/2 games up on sixth-place Philadelphia and two games ahead of seventh place Detroit 34-34.

Tip off is at 1:00 PM and will be broadcast Nationally on ABC. If you can’t catch the broadcast, listen locally on WDFN 1130 AM or trough your computer at NBA.com

Win or lose, I’ll still get to heckle Jermaine O’Neal, so only good will come from this. Lost my voice earlier this season vs Toronto.

Get well soon Natalie, I’ve also been really doubtful about AI’s return at all. I am hoping I was wrong though, because we really need him to play if we want to beat Boston in a 7 game series. I hope when we get closer to playoff contention, he will see the light, take his roll and help us grab some ice.

I´m gonna watch this one with a lot of hope. A win will definitly make a stand come playoff time. It will show just how good our bench really is. I still believe in the “switch”. And altough I´m not that in to Curry, I´ll bet he knows when it´s time to turn that “switch” on. If we grab that 5th spot, maybe, just maybe there will be a big show of DEE-TROIT BASKETBALL all the way to the finals.

It’s half-time here and no mention of his name yet 🙁

My take: they should just sit our best guys and let the chips fall where they may.
    The season is done anyway.
    Let the youngsters learn…
Sorry antonio you would lose in the first round anyway!

Outstanding game by both Dyess & Max! Great game by everyone else too, the winner was not as important as the fact that our bench played really well. I feel the ‘need4sheed’ and predict a win on Thursday vs the Lakers!

Hardest thing to watch about the NBA…..superstars control the refs. Knock Wade down after a shot, automatic foul. Wade does the same, no call. On the other hand, Affalo needs to stop getting blocked on 3 point attempts. Cripes.

Curry gets ejected over frustration of his own bad play call. Why drive at Wade who’s been blocking stuckey and afflalo all game and has his way with the refs. Genius.

lol notice how van gundy sed its nba basketball it wasnt a foul,
he kind of shut up when wade kicked his legs out on stuckey earlier

anyone else think dyess should of had the ball for the win

why are you calling everyone idiots KG when nobody has said it wasnt’ a foul?

It was a dumb play call. Wade always gets the ref advantage so why try to draw a foul on him by driving the smaller stuckey on him?

Can’t believe Stuckey. That was the best play we could come up with in the end.

The refs gave Miami the win. And I’m glad Curry got fired up about it. VanGundy was almost as annoying as Bill Walton and that’s saying a lot. Curry was trying the whole game to talk the refs into calling it fairly.

    they gave oneal cylinder basket
then afflalo fouled when shooting three, no free throws
then wade fouls stuckey like 3 times, no call
then wade steps out of bounds with the ball, no call

Offensive Interference was undeniable. It can’t be argued like the fouls. But even Mark Jackson and Van Gundy try to make an excuse for it!

i wake up 3.30 in the morning to watch this game basically conceding i would be screwed today for school, but still do it.
and what does the nba do to me.
bends me over and allows dwyane wade to prison rape me.
how the hell does one dude get that many calls in the second half.
you look at him thats contact enough for the zebras

we had this game and the refs gave it away. it would have been nice for walter to have hit the game winning shot. The best part was how vangundy was like”I would not put Hermann in the game” and was bashing on him then suddenly walter hits that three. AHHHHHhhHHhh.. this is so frustrating. hopefully once the wounded come back they play as hard as the rest are now and then we will dominate come playoff time.

Again, I thought the guys played a fantastic basketball. The officials officially took over the game. Touch fouls called for wade when Afflalo tapped his forearm for a fraction of a second and when he kicked Stuckey on his missed jumper. On the opposite end Wade hacks Afflalo on a three point jumper, pushing him into the crowd and it’s called a clean block. Wade hacks Stuckey, then passes the ball in from out of bounds and they call it a clean block and in bounds play. Unbelieveable that the refs would give away a game afainst a team missing 3 starters.

    Exaclty KG.

There was more contact when Stuckey drove the lane as to the foul that was called on Afflalo when he literally touched Wade in the third quarter. Please explain that to me.
Wade goes with his full body on Stuckey, no foul call, then it gets even better, he steps on the line with the ball in his hands.

Man, it’s frusturating, I shouldn’t even have to write this.

We should have beaten these guys by 10 points…

Are you kidding me??? The end of this game was ridiculous. Forget the no call on Afflalo…forget the insane ESPN announcing…forget leading the whole game…forget 3 starters(or 2 legit starters) on the bench…forget a double tech/ejection(finally showing some heart Curry)…Wade’s foot was on the line when he blocked (and fouled) on the shot. I DVR’d it 3 times. How can you miss that???

we played hard, there was A LOT of bad calls, it comforts me that the we lost just because the refs stabed us in the back, but when I was watching the game and seeing with how much heart we played I thought to myself…Wade can’t kill us, but refs can

Quit whinin…. You guys lost to the better team today…. Refs call “touch fouls” ALL the time……… I thought the game was fair. Wade CAPPED THE MESS outta Aairon, and Haslem hit a clutch shot with 6 seconds left in the game…. and Curry CRUSHED yalls final hopes by opening and shutting his TRAP near the end of the game instead of using a time out he wouldve had. Heck, SHEED wouldve shown more composure in that game….. Quit being sore losers…….. HEAT4LIFE!!!!!!!!

I can’t fault Curry for his two techs late in the game. In fact, it kind of endeared him to me a bit. The calls in the second half were undoubtedly questionable and that last no-call Wade on Stuckey clinched the game for the Heat. I dvr-ed the game and replayed that four times; Wade was ALL OVER Stuckey and his foot was on the line. It had to have been frustrating for Curry to watch the refs lose the game for his team that fought hard with three primary players unable to play. It showed he cares if this team wins; something I’ve questioned this season.

I’m with Curry on this thing too. I mean WHO wouldn’t be pissed off? The game was lost anyway.

And anyway. I’m happy they are on 7th spot. I want that Boston RIGHT NOW. What’s the point of getting Orlando in 1st round if we still gonna lose it in the ECF? Let’s see what Detroit is made of right away, can’t wait for Playoffs.

It’s not a joke. We beat Orlando everytime. I don’t want to watch it again. I want to see us beating Boston. We gonna get Boston or Cleveland ANYWAY so they better learn to win with tough teams.
