The Pistons vs The Hawks

Pistons take on the Hawks in the ATL for and early afternoon Sunday game today. This could mean trouble for Detroit who have yet to record a W on Sunday thus far this season.

Detroit looks like they have finally started to click, especially after their double OT loss to the Jazz at Palace Friday night. But don’t look for the Hawks of old, this Atlanta team is 16-10 on the season and knows how to shut teams down. Don’t forget our old friend Flip Murray is averaging 10 points in 20 minutes for the Hawks this season.

Tip off is at 2:00 P.M. on FSN. If you can’t watch the FSN broadcast, tune into 1130 AM The Fan can’t do either, follow the game on NBA.com.

Sorry for the lack of posting, the snow storms took out my internet service. Thank goodness for Starbucks right now.

It’s a Sunday game, hence we should just forfeit and save the carbon emissions necessary to get to the arena.

If we do show up, I want Afflalo guarding Joe Johnson in the 4th quarter.

I’m 50/50 on this game. I sure feel like we’re getting somewhere even with the loss to Utah, but at the same time it is Sun. and they tend to strugle with teams that are as good as they are or a little worse. I’d say the key people to watch out for in this game would be Marvin Williams and Josh Smith. I’m quite confindent we can shut down Joe Johson.

I’m looking forward to this game. I hope it’s as exciting as the Utah game.

Did anyone see the Jazz @ Bulls game? Bulls actually won, but the Jazz did go into 2OT the night before.

TO ski dp3: I hope its not as exciting as the game with Utah. The only reason that game was exciting was because the Pistons and Utah were so close to eachother and they went to double OT.I hope the Pistons blow out the Hawks.I had have a blowout win rather than an exciting loss.

All the piston fans need to investigate in the nba and the referees. The pistons are getting bad calls called on them. On youtube there is a video where a ref winks at a player after calling a foul on Aaron Affalo. And today there were enormous amounts of bad calls called on the pistons. In the end there was one about a shot clock violation. This is serious. Pistons cant win with refs cheating and calling bad calls on them. Remember that one ref that was caught for cheating. And it was a big news. And David Stern did not say much when asked about it.The Nba is all about making money they dont care how or if they cheat and lie to make it.The pistons are starting to improve on their chemistry and the nba sees that so they are telling the refs to call bad calls on the Pistons so they lose.We all need to write to as many people in the nba and media and make this public.Write to as many people as you can and spread the message.Type in “Nba ref winks after calling foul” on youtube and see for yourselves.

We cant brush off this game because the next game we will just get more bad calling and will have to also brush off that game. And it will just go on and on.So we need to do something about this.

come on guys, blaming the refs is like blaming Sunday’s for the loss. Let me guess “God hates the Pistons and wants to see them lose because he wants to Celtics and the Lakers in the finals.” There are plenty of reasons the team loses, and I could go on listing all of them but that wouldn’t help anything because I believe they know a lot of the issues, they just aren’t correcting it for whatever reason.

Rip has gotten hit and gotten techs and thrown out of games before, but when you see him crying you know it is more than that. Clearly the frustration boiled over today. Whenever someone starts breaking down, it is not because he got hit or whatever, it is just the straw that broke the camels back. You always see the last thing that tipped him over the edge, but my guess is he is a lot more upset then anyone thought. And I really hope things work out. For the record, I don’t think Rip is a baby or anything, I just think everyone has a boiling point. And with everything going on I think we saw his

please don’t put the blame on the refs…we lost the game because we are playing badly, that’s all.

This small starting lineup is a joke we can’t continue with 3 guards and prince as a powerforward…every time the hawks could they posted us, and were putting easy baskets.hamilton had even to defend on j.smith!!!as long as we scored our jump shots it was ok but we knew it couldn’t last.

Curry…if think he doesn’t like offensive systems. it was just individual plays, no screens, nobody cut to the basket. the players were sleeping when someone had the ball, there was no mouvment.
and please put tay, our best defender, on bibby when you see he’s hot…and don’t make him take the last shot when you see he’s cold all night.

Dumars has to make big choices now. trading chauncey for AI, he wanted to rebuild this team : ok joe so do it completely :
-specify around what player we actually have you want to rebuild(and not around a hypothetical one we’ll have in 2010)
-do the right players trades for it(i think it begins with a true center or a damn good PF,the only thing we needed this season to improve btw))
-and get an experienced coach who would be able to organize all this on the court.

We can’t continue with this ugly team with no leader.
    it isn’t just a question of a 24 second violation…

I eat, breath, and sleep Detroit Pistons basketball, but come on. Does this really surprise anyone. Yeah they could get better as the year goes on and I hope they do so they’re more fun to watch. But this team just isn’t good enough to do anything this year. And don’t give me that crap that in 2004 they started the same way. This team is in NO WAY going to do what that team did.

Don’t get me wrong I think the NBA is poorly officiated sometimes, but you can’t blame 10 losses all on officiating. This team just isn’t that good right now. You’re just torturing yourself if you think that and also if you think they’re going to have this huge turnaround and somehow beat Boston or Cleveland who together have only lost 6 games so far this season. Get used to it people, this is a Pistons team that is not what it used to be and will continue to change and probably struggle even after this season. You can’t be the best team every year.

Go Pistons, and start winning against better teams so you’re not so boring to watch!!!!

Honestly I think we can beat Cleveland no question, we just match up well against them, Boston thats just a whole different story lol. But I defenetily think we can beat the Cavs in a series.

i didnt watch the game i was digin out from 2 feet of snow!! but it sounds like the refs had another bad game!! we can’t do nothin about it thats the hard part. in 2004 we came out of nowhere, and suprised everyone, even mr. sperm!! if the nba let us play our game like they let bron-bron, koby, and wades teams, nobody could stop us!! but thats only fun for us, right???? we need a superstar and joe d. realizes that. we need to trade some of our young talent for a big time player, throw in one of our vets for numbers and a draft pick(mabey), but there ARE players out there that can make us better fast,……are we desperate enough to make the move?? are we ready to see rip, tay or sheed leave???, cause thats what its going to take! i’m not trying to ruin anyones day but if u remember who i am, i said when we traded for ai that it could turn out to be the worst trade in pistons history, listen to us now! 2010 is a long time to wait when what we had was so great to begin with, who is this alan guy and why does sheed and rip just not look the same? joe needs to make a move thats for sure, but the move he makes will hurt alot of us in some way, thats for sure.

Crying about officiating is pointless. It’s bad sometimes, but whining about it as the reason your team doesn’t win every game is pointless and immature.

    – 40+ minutes for 3 of the starters.
    – 34+ minutes for the other two.
    – DNP’s for Maxi, Walter and Kwame.
    – Why was Tayshaun taking the desperation 3 pointer? Because we traded away Mr. Bigshot for Allen Iverson because Iverson is God. Haven’t you noticed how well his jerseys sold?
-I can understand Rip getting a tech, becuase I’m sure he had some choice words- but why was he ejected? He was on the bench at that point and I’m a bit confusedabout that- did I miss something?

ok shutup about, ai, im not a die hard ai fan, i never watch him play except pistons vs denver, or pistons vs 76ers in playoffs tht one year wen tayshaun owned, but HES NOT RUINING THIS TEAM, i could honestly not name one thing negative rite now, on how he has fit in. he passes more then i expected, but i think hes trying to hard to pass

he only had one turnover, which isnt tht bad, all starters had 1 except stuckey, not saying we should put stuckey on bench. stuckey is our future

and maxiell is on the dnp, if he learns how to shoot free throws which he practices much on, he can be really good in the paint,

    bottom line
    i wouldnt trade anybody
if i was going to trade someone, kwame brown
he had improved lots with pistons, but right now coach is having hard time to play in which situation,

Ok Allan, sorry but you made no sense. All you discussed was AIs individual offensive performance. He is easily the worst man to man defender the Pistons have had for years. He is easy to exploit on that end of the floor. When your SG is only about 5’11”, there is going to be serious issues on D. He has Rip, Tay, and Sheed all playing out of position. It wasn’t like that with Chauncey. Sure AI will fill up a box score, put up some nice espn highlights, and that is all it seems like you see. Not the fact that this team clearly plays at a much lower level than when they had Chauncey. And just what would you expect for Kwame? He has no value to any team for a trade. He fits in fine as a 5th big man for us, no need to trade him.

haha is this a piston thing
iverson was getting a lot more calls when he wasn’t a piston
infact iverson was getting a lot more then the no calls he is getting now
i guess the zebras have got it in for you piston fans
    why didnt J-MAx play?
Dyess kept screwing bunnies (not literally….maybe just a little) but curry persisted with him. we had trouble finishing close to the rim.
name one piston player who doesnt have trouble finishing in close.
THE MAN CHILD HIMSELF. THE SECOND COMING. JAAAAAAASSSSSSOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNN MaAAAAAAAAAAXXXXXXIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLL

    Ok.. a few brief comments.

AI has not ruined this team. Whats ruining this team is awful coaching and officiating.

Kwame Brown has value to this team. He was mismanaged from the begining of his career and with proper guidance from Sheed and a real head coach, dare I say he could live up to his original hype.

Everyone is calling foul on the officiating.. I dont disagree but is this anything new? The Boys were unstoppable in 2004, They had the perfect combination of players and coaching and they played in a way that the bad officiatig affected them very little. In 2005 what did you notice? All those calls (and lack of calls) that you hadn’t paid attention to before were now blaitntly apparent and they were much, much worse than before.

Officiating is + large markert teams and -smaller market teams. I honestly thought once we got AI things would change but I guess not. I mean.. look at the Cavs – they were a shit team and as soon as they got LBJ they were treated like the Spurs.. Didn’t make much sense then but, seeing as he’ll be in New York in another season, now it does.

Lmao @ Avery Johnson. He is one of the most incompetent NBA coaches there is, and he would command NO respect from the Pistons. And how can you blame officiating for us losing? Sure we don’t always get the fair shake of calls, but regardless, we are just not a very good basketball team. We are above average at offense, and well below average at defense. AIs small body cause too many mismatches.

Just to be honest,I think that it’s not just the players. I’m not saying that the players aren’t doing bad, because compared to last season, my grandmother would be able to compete with them if she were still alive…The point I’m trying to make is that MICHAEL CURRY, a so called reflection of Joe Dumars, is doing a horrible job at being head coach. He has no clue on what he is doing. If that’s how Joe Dumars thinks, then I’m wondering on how in the world that guy had a championship ring on his hand.

Another thing; what in the world is Joe Dumars up to? he is screwing up the team as the year goes on. At first, the Pistons had about 20 people on their roster. Now they are down to 15. What does he want to get a new car or something?
