“I was wide open, and coach has been stressing that if I am wide open, shoot the ball, I finally got the courage to take my shot.” Via The Detroit News. “I am not rewarding guys for just scoring the ball, Amir missed some shots early and he was probably looking over to see if we were going to jack him out of the game. Rumor has it that Amir beats Sheed fairly regularly in 3 point shooting contests in practice.
How could Saunder keep Amir on the bench or in the D-league for all of 3 years except for 2 months last year?
Did Amir find a magic pill or potion and all of a sudden get game over the last 3 months?
Amirzing!
No, Amir didn’t find a magic pill- he found a coach that’s not afraid of using his young players.
I don’t know about Amir being a better long distance shooter than Rasheed. I’d have to see it to believe it- especially if its said to happen regularly. Where did you here that, Mike?
It wasn’t Amir, it is Samb that beats ‘sheed at 3pt contests…
If the bench gets consistant playing time which you know they will, we’re going to be better come playoffs. Just think about it, a whole season with these guys improving and getting more comfortable. I’m very excited for this season to start. I think we’re going to be pretty good. Lets hope this is what it takes to get us over the hump.
