It’s back to work for the Pistons with back to back games in Texas. To start things off tonight The Pistons take on The Mavericks. Dallas (23-11) can erase their half-game deficit and reclaim a share of the division lead with a win tonight against Detroit. Look out for the usual suspects in this one, especially Dirk Nowitzki, who has been playing up to his MVP status of late. Nowitzki averaged 28.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 57.1 percent from the field against Detroit last season. The two teams split the 2 game series in 06-07.

I’m expecting Rasheed to use all his bottled up fury and have a big game tonight. He shouldn’t use all of it though, he needs to save a little extra for Timmy tomorrow night.

Tip off is 9:00 PM and the game is being broadcast locally on myTV20 Detroit as well as Nationally on ESPN and on the radio at 1130 WDFN The Fan. Remember that tons of Pistons fans are talking live during the game in the Need4Sheed.com Forum Chat Room.

I’m leaving it up to you and Piston Red, White and Blue.

Mannie, Nazr with a double-double against the Celtics? Impressive

    Ray Allen didn’t play, FWIW.

    Nazr: 18 pts (8-11 shooting), 10 boards, 1 steal, 26 min

Walton wants “to see Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince do something in this half” … and I can’t really disagree with him much on that one.

  21. Natalie

I refuse to say I agree with Walton, I did mention it to myself earlier does that count?

    Great ESPN stat…

    Dirk vs:
    Sheed, 5 pts, 2-3 FG
    Dyess, 4 pts, 2-2 FG

Steve, I couldn’t agree with you more. At least he just called a time out. It was desperately needed. Usually he doesn’t call them when I think they’re necessary, and it only hurts us more.

I want Herrmann back against Dirk!

Chauncey is 3-10 as horrible as Tay (1-7)….

    Reply
  28. Steve

Definitely… let’s see what he does here.

Hmm no changes to the lineup, so I hope he gave them hell in the huddle.

    P.S. That’s a Texas-sized woman behind the ESPN crew courtside. 😉

  29. Steve

Is there a play where the other 4 guys surround Tay at the free throw line and then he can just shoot from there all night long?

    Reply
  30. yk

Dice is working hard! I would like to see a lot more of those hard plays from him and everyone else.

I don’t know why Saunders won’t change lineup in 3rd quarter no matter what happens… he really keeps core during 3rd in every game. He can try a little different at times.

    I don’t care if I’m talking to myself…

    PUT THE BENCH IN NOW!!!

    ESPECIALLY FOR TAY AND CHAUNCEY!

14 points deficit…. we’re in a big trouble now. Put Max in and maybe he can change the game.

    Haha… thanks.

This game is frustrating… why must we always play like s**t when I can finally watch it on HD down here in Ohio?

Maybe this is karma for moving away from Michigan or something. Though there’s no jobs there so it’s not like I had a choice – sigh.

  37. Steve

Oh you can certainly be the president, Nat.

If it weren’t for you and N4S, I wouldn’t have a fan base!

True, but this quarter hurts. Ouch.

WHY HAVE CHAUNCEY AND TAY BEEN ON THE FLOOR FOR THE WHOLE 3RD?!?

I want everyone not named Chauncey and Tay in this game right now… this is ridiculous.

I’m in Thailand. I made it a point to listen to this game. I know, I’m a bit obsessed, but I don’t care. This game has just been sad. I don’t think we had a chance from the very beginning. Dallas isn’t even that good, but we haven’t been playing as well as we can at all.

I don’t want Amir to become the new Nazr either – put him in, Flip!

i.e. Guy who never comes off the bench that we pay multi-millions per season to.

No energy, a game they really didn’t have any desire to win really. I would have thought they would have came out blazing after Saturday night’s loss. I guess 10 three’s from Dallas doesn’t help. Bring on San Antonio, we need that win.

RELAX PEOPLE! You are all acting like you have forgotten who the Pistons are, lol. So, we lost a couple games in a row to 2 very good teams after an 11 game win streak. Surprised? Really? We ALWAYS have a low point in the season, and it typically comes after a long win streak. More importantly, where do the Pistons like to be? Under the radar! I’m not happy with the losses of course, but come on – do we really like the Pistons in the spotlight? I sure don’t and I KNOW they don’t.

Breathe in. Breathe out. It’s only January.

    go pistons. 🙂

I don’t understand why, even in useless garbage time, Amir still doesn’t play until there’s like 3 minutes left? Flip has a plethora of excuses every time people ask him, and a lot of those excuses have been proven to be false. Why don’t people call him out on that ****?
    Excuses:
Flip: Amir’s rotations aren’t very good.
But Primo “My D sucks” Brezec plays.

    Flip: Amir doesn’t rebound enough.
    But Brezec plays.

Flip: Max/Dice/Sheed are playing too well. There’s no room for Amir.
= Dice/Max/Sheed play bad, Flip goes small. He’s hopeless.
