I am proud to announce that I will be teaming up with the WTKG SPORTS EXTRA with Bennie & Jeff AM 1230 Grand Rapids. What does that mean? It means that I will be doing a weekly spot on the Pistons Sundays on Sports Extra with Bennie and Jeff. We have quite a few things in store for you this upcoming season giving you all the Pistons info you need and a little extra.

If you’re not familiar with the show Sports Extra is a weekly radio sports talk show that reviews the week before and previews the week ahead in sports. Bennie Covington and Jeff Daum offer an honest and exiting take on sports talk with their unique styles. Jeff Daum, a sports fanatic, focuses on the hardcore sports casting that hardcore sports fans enjoy. While Bennie Covington, a former college basketball player, relates sports in a way that is relevant to Michigan. Together, Sports Extra becomes a sports show that the sports fan and non-sports fans in the area will enjoy.

You can listen live from the WTKG website Sunday’s from 6 PM to 7 PM and we will also have a download available after the show. Bennie and Jeff get quite a few special guests that all Pistons fans will enjoy. Take this week for example, Bennie and Jeff spoke to WDFN’s Pistons Insider Matt “The Diesel” Dery. Just like we have been talking about all Summer long Bennie, Jeff and Matt talk about the Pistons young talent, Antonio’s role, C-Webb and much more.

Download the Matt Dery interview here.

New and exciting things to come all season long from Sports Talk and Need4Sheed.

    Congrats…
on an unrelated topic… I asked Keith Langlois in the Pistons Mailbag about the new jerseys and this is what I found out:

Sarah (Ohio): I was wondering if you could tell us anything about the 50th anniversary throwback jerseys that will be worn during some games this year. What will they look like and when are they first going to be worn and when can we buy them?

Langlois: I turned your question over to Craig Turnbull, Sarah, the vice president of brand management here at Palace Sports & Entertainment. Here’s what he said: The 50th anniversary jerseys will be home whites, very similar to what the Pistons wore 50 years ago after moving to Detroit. The first wearing of those uniforms is scheduled for Dec. 7 when the Chicago Bulls come to The Palace. And they’ll be available for purchase in early December.

WOW, Congrats on this new dig, and I hope you forward our wishes and sentiments to the Pistons or at least they can hear our voices.
They are the best guys in the world.

On a side note, Mr. Bill Davidson is a freakin’ genius for giving the GM job to Dumars instead of Isiah. NY Post rumor that Pappi Dolan is getting pressure from the league and sponsors to clean house in NYC.

    Nat,

Congrats!! Im very excited for you :)… As for your comment on getting sheed on the site, I think that would be a trip. I know watching LeBron James on SNL was funny, but i think Sheed would make a 10 times better host… haha, anyway… Congrats again and talk to you soon,

    Nick~~

I’m sorry I missed that, but I’m sure you did great and I’ll be sure to catch the next one. Also I was wondering if you had any information as to why so many preseason games aren’t being televised, like the one tonight against Miami? Thanks Oh and just curious if there will finally be an Antonio McDyess authentic or swingman jersey in stores now that he’s a starter? Again thanks

Plus I do think Rasheed would make a great SNL host, and even though I thought LeBron was pretty funny you know Sheed would just be cracking on all the cast and stuff, and plus if they made him dress up in a woman’s outfit that would be soooo funny.

Thanks for all the well wishes, it should be a fun season and you can be sure I will do my best to represent all of us.

Sara, Thanks for the info on the jerseys, I didn’t think we would have to wait until DEC. 🙁

To answer the Question on the Swingman Jerseys….when asked, I made sure to tell someone with The Pistons that we Want
    McDyess
Maxiell and Johnson Swinman Jerseys and if possible Stuckey.

    I made sure to tell

Congrats, Natalie! That’s a great opportunity, and I’m sure you’ll make all the Piston’s fans proud 🙂

I’m also glad to hear they’ll be offering downloads, since AM doesn’t quite have the power to reach the west coast! *Grins*
