Sheed Says

“Yeah, Flip and I, we had our little beefs or whatever,” Wallace said. “Nothing personal. He’s still the coach and that’s respect from my end. And it’s not like I’m sitting up there saying I hate the man or this and that.

“Everyone, every player or every coach, has their beefs or their moments throughout the year. It wasn’t nothing new or nothing different.”

“Wherever I’m needed on the floor, it don’t matter,” Wallace said. “On the wings, on the post, if at times I’ve got to sit on the bench, it don’t matter, whatever’s best for the team. I just know that when I’m out there, I’m going hard. Bottom line.”

“I thought Lindsey was a hard-nosed player,” Wallace deadpanned, “but come to find out, he’s softer than Twinkie filler.” Via The Detroit Free Press

It’s nice to hear Sheed comment on the rumors involving his dispute with Flip. It can’t be easy watching your team struggle when you disagree with your coach.

I know the typical sports mentality is to keep everything quiet, hidden in the locker room. Sheed is just not like that. He has to have his two cents, which explains his technical fouls… but does that make him a bad person, or bad player?

Do we really want a player that blindly agrees to everything his coach wants?

I understand that you don’t want a big dispute over every decision, and both Sheed and Flip Saunders made some mistakes in their ECF losses to the Cavs, but it seems like they’ve both moved on.

I think every team needs a player like Sheed, someone that brings the energy and drive. Yeah, maybe that drive means some arguements. Still, I’d FAR rather deal with a person that I disagree with to their face, than the type that doesn’t say anything, and lets their feelings fester until they’ve poisoned the relationship past the mending point.

I’ll take direct and fiery, over soft-spoken and brooding, any day.

Reporters are making more of this issue than it needs to be.
Sheed can speak publicly 10X and if he shows a little of anything on court, it will be like “oh, Sheed hates his coach” Give it a rest already.

Meantime, I am not ashamed to say that I jumped on the Detroit band wagon in 2002 and I am proud to be still on it. What is left of this NY Knicks team has made me so nauseous. By the way, Dolan, Isiah and MSG was found guilty today of sexual harrassment, they will appeal of course, but I think it will be just money in their lawyer’s pockets. They don’t seem to get it, everyone in NYC knows they are morons that live in their own little world.

    Go Detroit!
And someone please buy the Knicks from this fuck head Dolan and clean house!!!
