With today being media day and the start of the season right around the corner, Team Need4Sheed is getting ready for the 2007-2008 Detroit Pistons in a big way.

Within days it should be all Pistons all the time, and what better way to start things then with a great video mix from loyal reader Sheed_Russe.

    Nice Vid.

Can’t wait to see the site really get rolling again.

I’ll be going to the Van Andel arena pre-season game on the 17th. It’ll be the first game I’ve been to since the Grant Hill / teal era. I can’t wait.

Young pistons – veteran pistons… I’m hoping for a special season.

I’m excited for the most part, I have some doubts about this team going all the way, but if they do turn out to be better than I expect it will just make this season more fun. I think if Flip ups his intensity and keeps the team on track and utilizes everyone’s talent and we see more team ball from this team that’s supposed to be all about it rather than constant iso moves we can go far. I still wish we had a center that wants to play center so Rasheed can do his thang at the 4. I was thinking maybe it’s possible to get Tyson Chandler for some rebounds and shot blocking. Or a lot less likely maybe Darko 🙂

I just want Darko to come back cause he looks like Christian Bale from Batman Begins. And we can call him the Light Knight (rather than Dark, I’m sorry that was awful, but I don’t regret it)

Good luck Pistons, make us proud

The Detroit Pistons have picked up the team option on the contract of forward Jason Maxiell.

Maxiell, 24, who was drafted in the first round in 2005, is now signed through the 2008-09 season.

Maxiell played in 67 games last season, with averages of 5.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 14.1 minutes.

The Pistons also announced the signing of free-agent Gerald Fitch, a 6-foot-3 guard.

Fitch, 25, was undrafted in 2004 out of Kentucky. Since then he has been with the Washington Wizards and Miami Heat, and he also has played in the Euroleague and the Ukraine Superleague.

How many roster spots does that make?

    thank you for this video
im a 13 year old long life pistons fan
the red, white, and blue blood that was always in me started to fade this summer.
i completely forgot about these guys and how much joy they bring to me.
the pistons are what keeps me going through a crappy week with a crap-load of homework.
so i want to thank you for putting this video up to remind me, and hopefully other people, that detroit is a basketball town.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I’m so excited, I’m so ready, I hope that we getting ready for a special season, for some reason I feel so pumped, I think that the Pistons may have something to prove this year, I think that they are tired of all the negative comments that they have gotten since the Cavs,I hope and feel as though they got a fire in them, I’m really excited about Rasheed being center, that’s awesome, I’m so ready, I can’t wait to get this going! Go Pistons, let’s bring it back to Michigan!!!

Fitch? I thought roster spots were already an issue? Does this mean Flip is on his way out?

Maybe the signing of Fitch means Joe D. has one more trade up his sleeve before the season starts

it was a non-guaranteed contract which means he can be cut after training camp without penalty. The article said he is a long shot to actually make the team but he is going to be used as an extra body during practices during camp.

anonymous 4:33 p.m u are exactly like me but i’m 14 and a half, :D. I love the Pistons and they are like the world to me. My dad thinks that the Pistons shouldn’t get in the way of my life and stuff because i need 2 be getting ready for college and such, and he’s right. But what this city/state is going through it’s hard not to love the Pistons and our sports team because they make us all happy and of course they play in the “Best Sports Town in America”. So yeah i love the Pistons to death and would never stop loving them. If you are once a Piston you are always a Piston at heart. I love this city and state no matter what. I’m a Detroiter and proud to be a Detroiter, i might not be living in Detroit now (in metro) but i was born there and i’m DARN proud to say that i’m from Detroit. The Pistons i believe will have fire this year, and something to prove and they should, and hope and pray to God that they win the ship this year. I respect them love them and pray for them every night. Thank God we have our core, players, Rodney, Afflalo, Jarvis, Cheick, Meija, EVERYONE! I don’t care what my friends think of me about how i feel about the Pistons because they obviously don’t know how it’s like to be an emotional fan like me. But anyway I love the Pistons and can’t wait to go to the open practice because that is going to make my week for sho. Detroit @ Heart

LET”S GO PISTONS AND LET”S GET THAT SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2007-2008 IT”S OUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ALL BOUT DETROIT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
