  • Chauncey makes it official and signs with the Pistons for 5 years and 60 million dollars.
  • Amir’s deal is in the works, it looks like he will be getting 10 million for three years. Personally I think it’s a great deal for Amir and The Pistons.
  • C-Webb is deciding between The Pistons and The Mavs, but if Joe Dumars can’t unload Nazr Mohammed it would be unlikely that he would re-sign Webber.
  • Right now it looks like Lindsey Hunter is going to play next season.
  • Detroit beat The Wizards 84-70 making it three in a row Wednesday in Summer League play thanks to Jason Maxiell’s 15 fourth quarter points. Arron Afflalo and Maxiell led the team with 21 points each.
  • It looks like Joe Dumars will not use the MLE this year to sign a small forward to back up Prince. He said he would be comfortable going into the season with Afflalo, Mejia and Ronald Dupree putting in time to cover Tayshaun.
  • The NBA Salary Cap just went up to $55,630.00.
  • Along with many other great Detroit sports bloggers I participated in a Detroit Tigers Roundtable at Mac Avenue Tigers.com.
  • UPDATEDarko is going to Memphis, the deal is reportedly for 3 years and $21 million dollars.

Not too thrilled about some of the things Joe had to say, especially not using the mid level, and bringing hunter back is a mistake. Mejia and Afflalo I guess are on the team, being that they are going to be our only prince blowers, unless you count supa dupe, which I don’t. WTF! I don’t get it.

    No back up for Prince??

If Hunter stays.. we are loaded with gaurds.

I think it would be hoed if C-Webb leaves the D for another team.. simply because he was deciding whether or not to stay in the game period and to leave your hometown team, who accepted you in open arms, at the end of your career.. its just messed up to me. Though I want him coming off the bench next season with a good, young center next season (I would really like to see J-Max start at center!?!… though hes the energy coming off the bench).

~ I hope what I said wasnt too crazy but it needed to be pointed out 🙂 ~

i’m very dubious about Joe D not picking up a SF with the midlevel. Grant Hill just happened to be the only option that made sense…too bad it didnt work out, although it wasnt for lack of trying. I hear Joe was throwing waaaaay more money at Grant than Phoenix gave him. Maybe joe should try to play Amir at the 3? Otherwise, i guess this sammy meijhighie or whatever his name is could…. All i know is this: Ronald Dupree looks a lot better in street clothes than he does on the court.

tayshaun is going to so worn out again this season if we don’t pick up someone. especially with him being on team usa.

Lindsay needs to retire asap….go away already…can’t go into next year without a solid backup for tayshaun

I read that the Pistons are trying out Qyntel Woods (SF) as a potential backup for Prince. He hasnt played since 2005 and didnt seem to ever live up to his potential, not to mention he has had legal trouble for dogfighting (maybe friends with Vick). What does everyone think about that move? and Natalie have you read anything about this potential pickup?

I am with all of you, I think Lindsey should hang it up this year.

As for Qyntel Woods, I did read about that last night and I am hoping the Pistons pass on him. I don’t see the upside of him. I would rather see someone like Super Dupe get the job along with the rookies….

I do however think Joe D needs to try to trade for someone. I also don’t understand how anyone can thought that Gerald Wallace would want to come to the Pistons and come off the bench right now.

I think that if Hunter wants to come back then he should not be on the active 12 unless needed. I think it would be better to give the younger guys time to develop and have more energy coming off the bench. They definately need to get rid of Flip Murray because he will just sit at the end of the bench again and take up space. As for SF, if we do pick someone up what about Patterson he had a decent year last season and would give Dupree and Mejia a little more time to develop .

I don’t I want to have anything to do with Patterson. His track record speaks for itself. I would hate to see his off court antics(if you can call them that) in Detroit.

“Restricted free-agent forward Amir Johnson has agreed to re-sign with the Detroit Pistons for an estimated $12 million over three years, NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com on Thursday.”

wow, I hope that means he’s going to play significant minutes: 4 mil a season is kind of alot for someone who hasn’t really played in the nba, despite his upside.
