McDyess a Free Agent? Maybe NOT

by | Jun 27, 2007 | 14 comments

From MLive’s A. Sherrod Blakely

“I spoke with Antonio McDyess’ agent this morning, and he confirmed that McDyess has not filed for free agency.

“I have the paperwork right here on my desk,” said his agent, Andy Miller. “I haven’t seen the report, but I can tell you it’s false.”

Miller went on to say that no decision had been reached as to whether McDyess would test the free agent waters. But reading between the lines, it seems as though McDyess will likely return to Detroit and seek some type of contract extension which Joe Dumars has said in the past was something the Pistons would pursue with the 6-foot-9 forward.”

Thanks to quite a few Need4Sheed readers and Justin Rogers from MLive for the tip.

    Hey Nat,
Are you going to be at the draft party at the palace tomorrow night? If you dont remember me I used to email you quite often about a year ago. Ronnie is the name, well I’ll be there tomorrow. Let me know if you are going, I’ll try to meet up with you and we can talk about the pistons all night. I hope we get Acie Law…he’s a beast and reminds me of Chauncey. Let me know.

My jealousy just increases 10x lol…you guys get to go to a draft party at the palace? Lucky! =)

Seriously, all I want is for the pistons to keep the core 4 and Dyess, to draft a good guy, and Rip to say something. Is that too much to ask for???

    Pistons forever

THANK GOD!!! I am pretty sure these people are trying to kill me with these rumors. Damn, I ran in the other room and put on my McDyess jersey as soon as I read the first post because I was so distraught. I feel much better now though. WHEW!!!

McDyess belongs with the Pistons. Him being on another team would just seem…wrong. ‘Sides, his smile makes me melt. And I LOVE to hear him talk during interviews. He’s got the face of a news anchor–made for TV, you know?. Ahh, ‘Dyess…

This is really good news to me.
When I thought Dyess was leaving I thought that he had given up hope on the Pistons cause he didn’t think they could get a championship. But Im glad he has not decided to leave yet.

Dyess has a very minimal chance of leaving our beloved Pistons. You remember how worried and nervous he was about leaving when the C-Webb deal went down that mad me beleive he will retire a Piston. Now we just need to convince Mr. Big Shot.
