by | May 23, 2007 | 9 comments

Some of you might not know the the history between the Cavaliers and the Pistons back in the 80’s. Here is a little video history lesson courtesy of a Rick Mahorn elbow and a Bill Laimbeer, Brad Daugherty fight.

wow these guys were pretty touch I had forgotten just how. I really miss the days when basketball was fun. I love our guys now but that was a special group of guys. Thanks for the look back.

Unfortunately I fear MOST readers of this site do not know a quarter of the players in that video.

I, being one of them. lol I’m 20 and haven’t been an basketball fan for long. I’m not sure how many people were in that video but I probably don’t know who a quarter of them were.

Man… talk about the good ole days… I remeber that game.. how about the first game of the season between the two teams and Nance gave Joey D a VICIOUS Screen? I thought Dumars was dead the way he fell straight down. Good times.

I’m 45 and I know who all those guys are. That was actually a vicious rivalry at one point, and I miss those times: everyone wanted to win and absolutely hated the guy in the other uniform. But they left it on the floor.

Wow. Didn’t Stern more or less establish a Kobe rule just to keep guys from doing that? Nice find, I’ll be sure to heap a little more hate onto LeBron next game. I don’t think it requires retaliation or something, but it looks like between that and the possible incident with the front row we definitely got under LeBron’s skin. If he keeps it up though, we’ll have to have someone give him the Laimbeer on Larry Bird clothesline special.

Eek. That looked bad. Man, I really was not paying attention to this game. I missed that, ‘Sheed falling on Varejao, and James throwing the ball. I actually couldn’t get into the game for some reason. But Game 2 will have my undivided attention for sure.

Here’s to the Pistons playing… uh, better! CHEERS!
