A Need For Sheed

by | May 12, 2007 | 33 comments

I have had a ton of fun with Need4Sheed.com since I started doing it in 2005. What started out as a personal page for me to share things with friends has grown into something more than I could ever have imagined.

When things at Need4Sheed started to get a little popular my one and only goal was to make sure that Rasheed himself knew about the site. Once that happened I never had another goal, things just started to happen. Who knew the site would been mentioned on some of my favorite and most respectable publications in sports. Who knew I would get a chance to blog for The Pistons. Who knew I would get to meet Sheed on more than one occasion? Not me that’s for sure.

After all of that, what happened Thursday night in the opening minutes of the third game of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals really made me proud.

I have so much respect and admiration for George Blaha I just can’t explain it. Mr. Blaha is the link to The Pistons that has never changed as long as I have been a Pistons fan. They have changed stadiums, players, coaches, uniforms and even team colors, but George is the one constant that always stays the same. He is the link to this team in good times and bad and his love for the team shows trough on every broadcast.

George is a Detroit Legend!

Yes, quite. Congratulations, Natalie! Like Diana said, I was just so excited when he mentioned it because I’m a regular visitor to the site but I can’t even imagine how great it is for you as the creator. Super sweet!

On a completely unrelated topic, I saw this picture when reading an article and it made me giggle…

way to go Nat.. I am so happy you made this site I have said it time and again but I am even more happy that you are getting what is due to you. They say if you it they will come and well you have started such a great thing and well everyone ahs come, even people from other teams come here to bash this site and well that just shows how great it has been. When people are not jealous they don’t say anything thing but when they are they have lots to say. ITs like when you se a cute baby you go one and on but when you see a ugly one you don’t say anything. I have been coming to this site since I found it searching for the pistons on line in nov. of 06 and even since then I come once or twice even three times a day just to see what others have wrote or you have posted. I live in Edmonton now I still hold seats to the pistons and will not give then up and because of this site I feel I am able to keep updated one what is going on. My firends love me cause I give them my tickets but this site makes it fun cause I still get to feeel like I am back in Ontario and going to the games, you don;t miss a beat and thanks for that. Anyway this is sappy enough cangrats on the mention of this site and fron someone we all love.

Congrats on the mention Nat. But is it safe to say that most of the Pistons fans are looking past tomorrow? Everyone thinks it’s just a formality. But they still have to win it. I don’t think Chicago is just going to lay down tomorrow. They will put up a fight. That is if they haven’t given up. Let’s not count our chickens before they hatch.

Not that I want to rain on everyones’ parade but the reality of it it’s not over until it’s over. I don’t think the bulls are going to win 4 straight. But they may just win tomorrow. I hope they don’t. I hope the Pistons are still as focused as they have been. But crazier things have happened.

I thought that picture was really cute, too Anonymous 9:30. I just don’t quite understand why they’re hugging like that. I mean, did I miss something emotional? Or is Chauncey sharing the love because of ‘Dyess’ ill grandmother?

Even if it’s just to say, “way to make that free throw” I LOVE IT! It’s adorable! I think it’s on their new intro to Pistons.com.

wow I just read my post and I am sorry about all the spelling mistakes. I guess I need to proof read before I hit submit. Anyway I think that all us fans know tomorrow is not going to be handed to us if it were than I would think that we were all nuts but most teams that win 3-0 go on to a sweep and that is what we are thinking and hoping the pistons do. The one thing about being a pistons fan that I love so mush is having to defend why the pistons are the best team out there. I love even more when they prove me right. I can’t wait until tomorrow to see what will come out if the game, I might be a little hung over since I am going out tonight but I will still be cheering on the pistons all the way win or lose (but I know to a win).

aww thats what i love about piston fans & why i love being a piston fan!

we know not to get too cocky/confident.. you already know other fans from other teams would prob be calling it a sweep already.. but we know anything can happen.. we still have faith in our team.. we just dont get too cocky cause you never know

buttt i doo hope it ends up as a sweep :]

that picture of CB and Dyess was takin right at the end of game 3 when the guys were basically “patting (or hugging) eachother on the back” for the win.. you know Dyess wants that ship so bad.. as we all do!!

George Blaha is not only the best play-by-play man in the NBA, but the best in sports.

I listen to many different announcers on the road for many different sports because of my job…

… NOBODY PAINTS A BETTER PICTURE. PERIOD!

There’s always a different adjective, whether he’s describing either the shot, pass, dribble, whatever.

The only problem is, most of the time I hear Mark Champion nowadays. He’s still alright, but nothing like Blaha.

I hope to meet the man before I die to let him know this.

Blaha need a retired jersey in the rafters when he’s done. The man is a Pistons legend. But Natalie I am having trouble getting sound out of the videos. It is the first time it has happened. Is it just me?
