Remembering When: Pistons – Bulls Rivalry INTIMIDATE & DOMINATE

by | May 10, 2007 | 49 comments

For those of you too young to know, or those of you too old (like me) to remember about how big the Pistons – Bulls rivalry was, here is a great video I caught on FSN Detroit narrated by your favorite broadcaster and mine, George Blaha.

Intimidate and Dominate, gotta love the Bad Boys.

Here is a little insight from The Starting Five on the history of the Bulls – Bad Boys rivalry.

The old bad boyz are better than the new ones. They were more physical. Guys would be hauled off in stretchers after playing the Badboys of the late 80’s early 90’s!

…oh yea and today i was reading sports illustrated and they were talking about the spurs suns seriesand in big letters in said …
“THE CHAMP IS HERE” “Sorry, Pistons, but the NBA title will be decided in the Western Confrence semifinals between the Suns and the Spurs, two teams with more in common than you might think”

i dont know bout you but i was mad when i read that >:0

    The Spurs don’t own shit.

Anyway, that is so fucking sweet, jess! That was my favorite part of that song, too.

I didn’t understand a lot of the stuff in the article but I learned a lot from it. I was born in ’87 so I didn’t get to witness the rivalry but as much as I’ve heard about it these past couple of weeks it sounded like some must-see basketball.

And SI doesn’t know anything. But it’s good that they’re not picking Detroit. Under the radar is where the team wants to be. Once again the “Underdogs” shall be victorious!

P.S. For some reason I haven’t been able to listen to that song the past two times people have posted that link. I paste the link in my browser and it says there’s an error….?

Amanda , actually the spurs did own the pistons in the 2005 championship! They won in game 7 and it was sheeds fault for not guarding Robert Horry.

    Horry owns sheed!

    Don’t mess with Texas!

I copied the link into a word processing program and then pasted the address back into my browser. It worked for me that way.

In the video, did anyone happed to notice Dick Bavetta? He looked as old then as he does now.

I was reading an article in SLAM last night where Ginobli calls out the Pistons as being clearly the best in the east. He said he hoped for the matchup again. Maybe we will see it.

I just read the headline of an article on Yahoo that said something about Stoudemire calling Bowen and Ginobli dirty. lol Or, they play defense…

So Anonymous 6:23, you’re saying that if ‘Sheed hadn’t let up on that one play the Pistons would own the Spurs? Okay. I’ll take that.

I saw that article Anonymous 7:01. Stupid fools. Each one of us Pistons fans cheer with the ferocity of 50. They’re just jealous ’cause they can’t do like us. Number 1 fans for the Number 1 team, baby!

Gotta go watch the Pistons Insider now! Have fun watching the game, guys!!

The pistons have a horrible first half and all it takes is one really good quarter to get them right back in it. Gotta love the Pistons.

What the heck happened at half time? This is not the same team that played in the first half. This team looks like they want to put the Bulls away. They are hustling for every ball. And it looks like the bulls are getting scared.

Did you hear the emphatic (drunk?) fan screaming “Sweep!” over and over…He actually didn’t even need to yell. You could hear a whisper from the upper level in that place. The Detroit boys done silenced the UC!

    It will be nice. Nice.”

    HEHEHE!!!
