Pistons Fans Are Everywhere

Once again a Need4Sheed reader got up close and personal with the team on the road. Jay Reyna, from Corpus Christi TX, was at the Pistons – Spurs game and got the attention of Mr. Billups long enough to take a picture with him. If you look close enough you can see that Jay has a Need4Sheed “Ball Don’t Lie” T-Shirt on. Sweet!

Jay, who goes to school in San Marcos, has been a Pistons fan since the Bad Boys days.

“I loved the pistons as a kid when they were the BAD BOYS. Rodman was and is my all-time favorite player. Rasheed has to be number 2, and when the Pistons signed him and they beat the Lakers, it was beautiful. I have loved Sheed since NC. My dream is to see the Pistons at the Palace while they still have this powerhouse team. If anyone were to get traded anytime soon, it would be heartbreaking. Bad enough Ben left. Maybe you’ll see me one day in the D shouting DEEE-troit Basketball.”

Thanks Jay, we love when we find fans in enemy territory, especially Texas. If you ever get a chance to come to The Palace to catch a game let me know.

Natalie, I don’t know if you saw sportscenter yesterday but they highlighted a “Free Sheed” poster in the crowd while explaining why sheed was not playing because of the Techs. I assume it was someone from need4sheed..

I remember that photo being taken: I was nearby. It was my first time that close to pro NBA players, so I didn’t have the guts to ask for a photo like that.

I watched the Pistons in Houston and San Antonio. The only other time I’ve seen them play was in Dallas at the beginning of last season (remember that one??). Although the Pistons are 0-3 while I’m watching them, I like the trend: Dallas ’06 was an absolute blowout, Houston ’07 started as a blowout but wound up being a game, and San Antonio ’07 was lost on a freak freethrow shooting failure by rip in a game where Chris Webber was clearly ill with the flu.

So, rather than considering myself good luck, I’m going to look at the trend and say that next time I watch them in Texas (finals?) it’ll be a win.
