Pistons Manhandle The Lakers

The Pistons continued their domination of the Lakers who haven’t won a game at The Palace of Auburn Hills since 2002. Detroit dominated Thursday night beating the Lakers 93-78 in front of a packed crowd and the TNT audience. The Pistons concentrated on frustrating Kobe and sharing the wealth on the offense. Stellar passing and the usual unselfish play led the 28 Piston assists.

Key Points:

  • Tayshaun Prince led the team with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal.
  • Webber and Sheed = DD and DD (Double -Double)
  • Chauncey was truly the floor general, 9 assists and 4 steals. He seemed to rip the ball out of Kobe’s hands more times than I could count.
  • Webber’s no look behind the back pass to a cutting T. Prince that led to a dunk was Awesome. I actually rewound the play about 6 times.
  • It was Piston domination from the start.
  • They look like they are definitely having a good time out there.
  • If I ever met Kobe I would thank him for his part in bringing a championship to the team in 2004. Had it not been for his selfish play the Pistons might not have had such an easy time with the Lakers in the Finals.
  • Flip Murray sighting 2.08 minutes.
  • After a Chauncey steal on Kobe, he passed the ball ahead to a streaking Rip Hamilton who put down a dunk with such emphasis that it sent him to the ground.

  • How I love a Rip to Tayshaun Ally Oop. And there have been plenty lately.
  • Can someone tell me why Chris Webber played 40 minutes in a game that was pretty much a blowout? Correct me if I am wrong but I think that is the most minutes he has logged since joining the team.
  • Webber loves to feed a streaking Prince.
  • Ok Men, the Ladies might not want Pistons Panties for Valentines day but they might want some Pistons BLING.
  • Prince to McDyess power dunk got the whole Piston bench off their feet.
  • Sheed was 3 for 3 from behind the long line.
  • Chris Webber knocked down his first 3 as a Piston.
  • C-Webb 18 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, a steal and a Smile.
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • When the Pistons play like this it’s so much fun to watch, I can’t say that enough.
  • Rip spun around Smush Parker and layed it in. Somehow Rip made it look so easy.
  • Delfino hit a 3 with three seconds left at the end of the half.
  • SHEEEEEEEEEEEEED! 18 points, 3 blocked shots, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.
  • Defensive Domination.
  • I wonder if Delfino is satisfied with his role on the team?
  • I think Jordan Farmar is going to be a great player, along with Bynum who I originally had my doubts about.
  • What a luxury it is to have 5 starters that can easily be your leading scorer on a given night.
  • McDyess has sore ribs.
  • I would say this one was a Clinic.
  • Saunders gave the starting guards a bit of a break but Webber and Sheed played long minutes.
  • Is everyone noticing that Mr. Rasheed Wallace is hanging out in the Post and DOMINATING?
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Phil Jackson and reserve Brian Cook had a heated confrontation on the sideline in the second half.
  • Maxiell and Delfino both missed thunder dunks on the same Pistons possession in the final minutes of the game.
  • Maxiell had a huge block at the end of the game. Rasheed who was on the bench, got up and cheered for his teammate in his usual manner telling Jason “Get that shit out of there Max,” with his usual grin on his face.
  • Pistons never trailed.
  • I took a little offense to Marv and Steve Kerr who said how sloppy Kobe was playing rather than complimenting Chauncey or the Pistons defense. Thankfully they changed their tune later in the broadcast.
  • Pistons on top of the Easter Conference.
  • Chauncey’s All Star Kicks gave me an idea for new T-Shirts.

I know it’s one of many points you listed, Natalie, but I totally agree with congratulating Kobe for helping the Pistons win the 2004 championship.

His refusal to pass to Shaq (who Ben Wallace COULD NOT stop in the post) almost certainly made the series a “five-game sweep.” That could’ve been a much different series had Kobe not been so selfish. But it’s not like I’m complaining…

These “Los Angeles Lakers” really should look at getting a decent point guard – ya know – someone who can at least hold onto the ball. Like, say, that young Chauncey Billups fellow.

I am dissapointed you didnt notice…Whenever Sheedy would guard Odom, he was blatently mocking him. Whenever Odom scores he does a little shimmy with his hands to his heads a la Darius Miles…Everytime sheed guarded him, he mocked him. I saw it 3 times.

where are the haters coming from? They could be sixers fans….hating what Chris Webber has brought to out team. Anywayz that was an incredible game.I knew Rip dunk, but I was studying at the time so I only caught the end of it. I did see that he was on the ground. LOL maybe Tay can teach him how to do it right. Rip is an excellent lobber. I love it. I wait to see Tay dunk and when he does I cheer at the top of my lungs. They guys are finding their rhythm now I can trully tell. And what about Phil Jackson everytime he opens his mouth he has to eat his words. The Zone gets them everytime. Natalie, this site is incredible and every since I found it I come on here everyday. I mean every day just to see what funny story you have up to see the key points. I love it. GO GIRL!!!! NEED4SHEED.com is the bomb.

Oh yeah I love those new shirts….

That was an incredible game. We ruled from start to finsih. You know this team is getting into it if Rip dunks instead of a layup. Next thing you know Chauncey will be flying high. LOL that would be oh so nice to see and funny. GOOD game. Looks like the guys are finding their swing. Protect home court and we will have a good thing going into the all-star break. DEETTRROOIITT BASSKKETTBALL!

Love this site Girl. I come on here everyday. Fanstastic job! I always find something funny on here.

its not hate its the truth. The only front court player we have on the bench is mcdyness, dale davis was playing great but now all of a sudden he cant get into the game. Maxiell has no low post game and all he can do is dunk which is why he is only playing in garbage minutes now. Untill he learns how to pass, make a jumpshot and devolp a post move he wont get any more minutes.

I am disappointed myself, its hard to notice that kind of stuff when you are at the game. I re watched it when I got back from the Palace but wasn’t following it that intently. I need to check it out again.

I did notice sheed mock Odom while i was at the game. I only seen it once and it was one of those things where you are like,”Did he just do that?” But its good to know is was that obvious. That shit Odom, Miles, and Q Rich used to do was soo sorry. Glad to know sheed thought the same. Is Miles even in the L anymore?

That was a vintage route of the Lakers…the whole time watching that game I was thinking 04 finals. Kobe must hate playing at the palace, let alone against an actual team that has five+ scorers.

i stop by everyday too. at least 3 times a day. The game was awesome. I was also thinking that when kobe comes to the palace that he always think about the 04 finals. Good game. It also seems that the Pistons really like doing behind the back passes.C-Webb did it and Chuancey did it a couple of times. Also Chauncey did it a lot in Cleavland the other day.

Natalie, there is a picture on the Pistons website that shows a girl holding a sign that says “Dont tread on the SheeD” Is that you?

i noticed that lady holding the sign too, but i figured that it wasn’t you because she was a little older, and the way i pictured you, you are a little younger than that. and i am so happy the pistons dominated that game. and i have to mention that the pistons still are not getting the respect that they deserve. like the commentators: it seemed like they were one sided talking about one person but not noticing or mentioning insights on the pistons until later on. and the whole fact, even though the pistons were winning, turning to another game, do they do that to other teams or just the pistons? anyway that is why i like coming here becaue if you cant get positivity from the games at least i know a place where i can go to get both: that is honest and not over exaggereated. thanks natalie

oh yeah i think that flip should have put more of the bench on the floor since he knew we were winning like let’s see, amir, muhommod. if he expects to see us in the playoffs i think he should start using the bench more becaue our keys players are going to need their rest, i do not want to see the pistons of last year, so flip, start crack-a-lackin, and stop slackin….hey nat, this could be a new t shirt design lol.

p.s nat i think you and mason need to do this, copyright protect your Sh*t because people are scratching your style… i saw that clublaker and it has nate written all over that stuff lol
