Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton are All*Stars

TNT just announced the All Star reserves and Rip and Chauncey made the Eastern conference team along with Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Dwight Howard, Jermaine O’Neal and Caron Butler.

The West All Star reserves are as follows: Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, Allen Iverson, Tony Parker and Utah’s Carlos Boozer who is out with a broken leg. Carmelo Anthony got snubbed, which is a travesty, he’s averaging 31 points a game. He took a hit because of his actions in the fight with the New York Knicks.

what was the the “ANHHH” noise about chauncey? Who did that?! chaunceys a boss. he dominates the assists and makes the pistons a better team. and im glad to see rip there with him for the reserves. and for the western reserves, its a good team but i think josh howard could have made it and definitely carmelo. maybe he will replace yao.

It was Kenny Smith, just for th simple fact that he didn’t pick him. He was making “ding” sounds for the players that he thought were going to make the team and Chauncey wasn’t on his list.

I am not sure but if I were to take a guess I would say that the players found out before it was announced. Especially since that had Dirk and Caron Butler via satellite interviewing them for the show.

As for Ben…Dwight Howard was clearly superior to him in every category this season. Ben didn’t deserve to go. Unfortunately a spot goes to Shaq who barely played a full game all season because the fans voted him in.

As for the Rip shoving Flip incident, I didn’t witness it myself but a couple other people did. Sorry I don’t have the clip.

Rip and Chauncey definitely deserve to go. Very cool.

Anyone catch the Cavs/Heat game? The ending came down to exactly what I thought it would…a Lebron/Wade free throw contest.
    Lebron drives…foul.
    Wade drives….foul.
    Lebron drives…foul.
    Wade drives…foul and one.
    Lebron drives….foul.

You feel sorry for their teammates who stand their with their finger up their nose afraid to guard the paint for fear of touching the other teams stuporstar.
    Long live Detroit.

YEAH! for Chauncey and Rip. They both deserve to be on that team. I feel you on Shaq making the team and tonight was only his 7th game of the season. That’s how you know that it is a popularity contest. He’s been a starter every year since he has been in the league. He would have thought it was rigged if he didn’t get voted in. Tay will eventually make it, but he has years left. I know he can do it. I heard Rip pushed Flip, but the other night in the NJ game they seemed happy, he huged him, dapped him up and what not so I’m sure their fine. Rip was a little heated. YEAH! I’m so excited for the All-Star game now. Forget Kenny and his little noises. He’s lame and who is he anywayz. Billups deserves to be there. After all he is Mr.Big Shot.

I also think Josh Howard deserved to be on the all-star team. No doubt. Besides the fact that he looks good he is a fantastic player. He deserved it and so did Melo.

Yeah Nate that game was a joke! If the refs just put the whistle away players would stop floping with the slightest contact. Its like a no-call no longer exsists. If a player falls down-automatic foul. Players who avg the most fta/game are Wade(no suprise),Iverson, Kobe, Melo, Arenas, LeBron. STUPORSTARS? Yeah they exsist!! I ask myself why do I even watch? Its not the game I was taught to play.

why on earth did tony parker make the allstar team over derron williams, ray allen, baron davis, or even his teammate ginobili?
i’m so glad chauncey and rip made the team. i honestly didn’t think either of them would, there is pretty good competition in the east at guard. it helps that AI went west and michael redd got injured. caron butler is having a nice season and all, but is he really an allstar over the likes of sheed and tayshaun? if shaq can make the allstar game only playing 150 minutes all season, then injuries should be irrelevant and carmelo, michael redd, paul pierce and chris paul all should be allstars.
    SHAQ IS A JOKE!

anyways, way to go chauncey and rip.
and go pistons, it’s time to get a streak going and get up on those pesky wizards.

^^i completely agree with you .. he definitely should have made it. but i dont understand why people dont notice him very much.

and i dont understand how shaq could still have made it. they should have some rule for qualifications for the all star game of playing a certain amount of time.. they have a rule for everything else so why not.

butttt im VERRRYYY happy about rip and chauncey !!

    i loooovvvee the pistons :]

The worst thing about the allstar turnout is teh lack of Tayshaun Prince- the second worst thing is that Shaq is starting, after missing about a quarter of the season so far.

The all star balloting should work like an electoral college rather than just fan voting in regards to who gets in/starts. That way it’s more about who’s really an all-star coughtayshaunPRincecough, not some NBA popularity contest.
