Yesterday while watching the Pistons Weekly broadcast I noticed something that I take as a good sign for Jason Maxiell. Behind John Hammond you can clearly see Jason Maxiell’s jersey prominently displayed for all the world to see. Now if they weren’t high on the Jason, you can bet that his jersey wouldn’t be on display as part of the Pistons Weekly set right now.
Does this mean Mad Max is going to get some regular playing time? I think it just might be. I am sure Flip wants to get a few wins under his belt before he gives him consistent minutes but you can bet he will be on the floor if any of our bigs get into foul trouble.

It is vital that Flip infuse some youth and energy into this lineup. Max needs some significant PT for the Pistons to succeed into the playoffs. He is really the only “gritty” player left after the departure of Ben. Without that grit it will be an early playoff exit again (Detroit Twolves).
I hope Flip can deal with a few months of rookie mistakes for the long term good of the team. He wouldn’t do it with Darko last year, and I think he’s going to regret that.
Anyone watch that Miami-Chicago game? Miami should donate the bling and burn their championship banner. Beaten by a team with a guy from Switzerland? Damn, how embarrassing. Guess all the special promos that Wade had to do in exchange for his ring can’t buy Miami a win on Opening night.
And someone please tell Wade that he has no business being on the cover of GQ. Though Big Ben and little Bryce looked really cute inside.
As someone who watched Max play in Cininnati for 4 years mark my words– Hard nosed player with something to prove. This guy is very strong. Small, but an athletic freak. As soon as Detroit drafted him I was comparing him to Ben. Give him two years and he’ll be mentioned in the all NBA defencive team debate.
I honestly just think its the way they set up the desk and everything in the locker room. But it would be sweet to se e him play because he deserves some PT…

I hope you’re right — Maxiell has been a beast in the preseason.
I am just keeping my fingers crossed.

I really hope that Flip decides to include Maxiell in the regular rotation. I think he more than proved himself in the pre-season.
That’s a nice Maxiell replica jersey.
