Battle Of The Detroit Point Guards – Isiah Thomas vs. Chauncey Billups

by | Sep 27, 2006 | 16 comments

I don’t think it’s fair to compare Chauncey Billups to Isiah Thomas quite yet. Isiah, the Hall of Fame point guard who led the Bad Boys era Pistons to two championships already cemented his place in the NBA record book. But I came across this excellent video that makes quite a statement in Chauncey’s behalf.

Set to the Rocky theme, this well done video is a testament to two of the best point guards around. The highlight of the clip for me has got to be the Isiah Thomas half court bounce pass ally oop to Mark Agguire Melvin Newbern. Enjoy this one.

I’m old enough to remember the lovely bounce pass was to a guy named Melvin Newbern who happened to find himself on the team for that season.

    Vin,
I honestly don’t know where I got it from. I have had it for a while now and all I can remember is that was a link on a forum that wasn’t in english. I would love to know who made it because he did an awesome job.

They are both really good. Who’s a better clutch player I wonder? Both players aren’t afraid to take the last shot in a close game. Who’s the better clutch player, that’s the tough question. I think Chauncey is our most valuable player on our team honestly. He has the ability to take over a close game, and can carry us.

It’s not Newburn, it was definitely Gerald Glass and his doughboy body.
