Detroit signs former Piston Ronald Dupree to a two year deal.

Ronald Dupree agreed to a two-year contract with the Detroit Pistons on Monday, adding depth to one of his former teams. The small forward averaged 2.2 points and 7.4 minutes for the Minnesota Timberwolves last year.Detroit traded Dupree to the Timberwolves just before the 2005 season for a second-round pick to clear a roster spot for rookie guard Alex Acker.Dupree averaged 3.2 points in 47 games two years ago for the Pistons after signing a two-year contract with the team. The 6-foot-7 forward scored 6.2 points in 19 minutes per game as a rookie with Chicago in the 2003-04 season after almost making Detroit’s team as an undrafted free agent. He played in 47 games, starting eight, for the Bulls. Via SI

I agree, I always liked Dupree but I don’t think he is better than Delfino.

Dupe always had the right attitude – await your chance then play your tail off. I keep hearing Delfino is all that, but he always has that kind of “I deserve more than this” look on his face when he comes in. I really won’t miss him if that’s the case.

Creates a little bit of extra contracts though doesn’t this??

I hope there is one more move here with Davis and Delfino…

With this new addition of bringing back Dupree this only means that they are going to have Flip Murray back-up Billups full time. Hunter is not going to play a lot of mins.. because the pistons will save him for the very end the season and the start of the playoffs. The pistons will have a eight to nine man rotation…(Murray,Delfino,Dice,Hunter, and Dupree)…OFF THE BENCH….

With the Players they have, they can really change there style of play and be a more up-tempo team. They have the right pieces to run up and down the court..(DELFINO,MURRAY,DUPREE,JOHNSON,MAXIELL,PRINCE,BILLUPS,RIP)…THE WAY THE LEAGUE IS THE PISTONS HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO CHANGE THEIR STYLE OF PLAY IF THEY WANT TO WIN ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP….

You have to look at the bigger picture. Just for the simple fact that they can use Dupree and Davis as trade bait to get another player or another first round draft pick…

Whew, what an onslaught of lower case profanity. Honestly, did your computers shift key fall off? I can’t beleieve a Heat fan “gone” and went off on Pat’s Hair piece; seems like you’re the mad one.

Thanks again for your additions to the website, we all need a good “faggot cock sucking bitch” rant every now and then!

I hope the Pistons make one more move here…

I always thought Dupree was better than Delfino. He’s a better defender and works hard when he’s on the floor. Delfino is probably a better shooter though.

Piston fans – come on get with it Cato is a free agent, he’s not on the roster and will not even get an offer from the Pistons (or anyone for that matter)!! He keeps showing up in these posts. Don’t you rememeber the point of the Darko trade – free of cap space for Ben?
