Just finished watching tonight’s game. Again, disappointing. Piston’s are (were) a great comeback team, but I don’t think they will come back from this one now. I originally thought this would go to seven games, but I am guessing Miami will take it in six now.

Again, I thought there were some lopsided calls. I have heard way too many “Miami just got away with…” lines from the announcers for my liking. But that’s not what lost the game. Miami outplayed the Piston’s on defense early on. They had some big plays in the fourth that closed it out. Foul trouble was very costly for the Pistons too.

I still pray that the Pistons somehow pull this out, but my faith in it happening is mostly gone. They’re capable, but I just don’t see it coming to be. Not with their lack of passion and the clear motivation of the Heat.

    Pistons, please prove me wrong.

So since its looking very unlikely that the pistons get this series back, though i know not impossible, when is Joe D going to get us an inside big man? We need a center. Ben is not a center hes a forward playing center. Hes got great heart, but his missed free throws and lack of offense is killing us. I love ben and hes responsible for turning the franchise around. Its time to move on however, Ben and someone else for Garnett, he wants a ring pretty bad. And we need something inside. Detroit needs some major prayers the rest of the way this year.

I have mixed thoughts on the trade Ben thinking, or even considering breaking up any of the starting five. It may be good in the long run, but I would hate to see any of them go.

It hasn’t been that they are not capable, when they come to play Pistons basketball, they can’t be beaten. They are not playing up to par though. I think all their success this season got to their heads. They achieved the best record in the NBA, had four all stars, a 4 time defensive player of the year, and a serious MVP candidate. Everyone called them the best team in the NBA. Everyone talks about how they always come back. I think the problem is that they believed it, and believed it would come easy. They forgot how hard they had to work to get where they are in the first place. They don’t have the same chip on their shoulder from lack of recognition that has driven them in the past.

Well, now nobody believes they can pull through this one. Everyone has pretty much written Miami into the finals. Maybe that will create the motivating “chip” again, but then again, maybe not…

Are they capable of pulling through this? Absolutely. Will they do it, man I hope so, but I doubt it.
