We all know that the Pistons franchise success was built on a solid defense. Ben Wallace was once again named Defensive Player of the Year for the fourth time, tying Dikembe Mutombo, the only other player that won the award that many times. He was also named to the 2005-06 NBA All-Defensive First Team. Ben was the only player this season to rank in the top 10 in rebounds, steals and blocks. Some people (video) didn’t even have him in their top 3, but he still pulled it out.
Tayshaun Prince (13 votes) and Chauncey Billups (23 votes) made 2005-06 NBA All-Defensive Second Team, Rasheed Wallace just missed the team with 12 votes.
Here is a great video on Ben and his defensive skills, including footage from his award press conference.
