Rasheed has a new habit of wearing two headbands during warm-ups one placed normally and one a bit askew, that he takes off before tip off.
Sheed gets extremely hyped up during the game introductions. Before he runs out to meet his teammates he turns, stares at the crowd, takes a big breath, as if he was inhaling the atmosphere and then thumps his chest twice making the crowd go wild. This is a gesture in which I take as him saying “I got this.”
Right after he gets introduced and huddles up with the rest of his teammates he jogs in place for a few seconds and then jogs to half court and back.
Sheed loves music and you can usually see him either playing the air drums, bobbing his head or singing the lyrics to some of the songs played during time outs at The Palace.
You can hear Sheed talking on court throughout the game, he’s definitely the loudest one out there.
When called for, he even delivers his famous “Ball don’t lie,” from his seat on the bench.Whenever Sheed is on the bench he is the biggest cheerleader in the house.
Right after the game while walking towards the tunnel he throws his headband and wristband in the crowd.
At the end of the National Anthem Sheed waits untill McDyess touches him on the back, then he jumps like he exploded and he races Hamilton to the seats. Watch this.

The Sports Dude wants to know why Rasheed wears tape on his fingers during the games.
Rasheed also takes off his warm-up pants and rubs them on the floor and then throws them in the air before the game.
When they announce the Pistons, sometimes there are kids lined up to give them high fives and Sheed always makes them do funny things like hold their hands really high for Tayshaun or really low for Rip.

Now by no means is this all of them, but they are just a few that came to my mind. If you have a Sheedism that I missed let me know and I will add it to the list. It all boils down to the fact the Rasheed Wallace is simply……….
My friends and i were just making fun of bill walton, and his gayness with Wade. If you guys have and audio clip of walton talking about wade’s rack and body, you should post it, that would be nice, thanks
Also sheed at the end of the national anthem waits till Mcdyess touches him on the back, than he jumps like he exploded, than he races him hamilton to the seats.
Also he juggles the balls before they do lay up drills during pregame warm up. At home games he high fives rick mahorn.
Thanks Bigshibz, I forgot to add the race to the seats I even have the video, thanks for reminding me.
Rick Mahorn – totally forgot.
Juggles the balls, never noticed that one.
Dear Natalie,
I would like you to add this one in your list too. Rasheed usually competes for long shots with a Pistons assistant coach Ron Harper. They shoot way far from three point line (closer to centerline) at near sideline during pregame warm up. Check it out when you’re at Palace next time.
he’s definitely an interesting guy, that rasheed! love her for it, though. can’t wait for tonight’s game! should be a good one.
haha i meant him! 6:30 in the morning is too early for me.
yeah he juggles the ball a lot lately.
and also, ive seen him wear his shirt backwards before the pre-game warm ups…
Has anyone ever noticed that Sheed always has tape on his ring finger? I know he is a big family man, is that to symbolize his wedding ring, which I am sure he can not wear during the game? Anyone else ever notice that and/or wonder the same thing?
Rasheed also taked off his warm-up pants and rubs them on the floor and then throws them in the air before the game.
oh and when they announce the pistons, sometimes there are kids lined up to give them high fives and Sheed always makes them do funny things like hold there hands really high for tayshaun or really low for sheed. — Im a big sheed fan but i dont have a blog so i have to post anonymously
Did you ever notice that Sheed always does awesome things when he’s breathing. I hear that he bottled his own urine and now sells it at stores nation-wide. It’s called Red Bull.
Great blog as always Natalie. Thnaks for you help with my page. Keep up the good work and when is that Sheed Quite Frankly airing?
By the way, I don’t know if you have seen this, but you have a very kindred spirit out there in Tarheel fan Elevator Man. He has an awesome 100 reasons to love Rasheed Wallace list. Here’s the link http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Loge/7346/. It’s mostly from his early days, but it’s still chocked full of Sheedisms all the way back to Sheed getting kicked out of the McDonald’s All-American game. Classic!
Anyone who gave me a Sheedism anonymously can always email me with their name and I will give you credit.
Also just to remind you…You do not need a blogger account to leave your name. Just click the Other tab and type in your name!
BD Bates…
Quite Frankly is Scheduled for April 11th right now.
Your Blog looks great..Go Tigers.
I Love The Elevator Mans Site, It made me Love Sheed YEARS Ago when he was in Portland. Although I liked him when he was at NC.
On Quite Frankly’s website, Rasheed is listed to be on tomorrow April 7th.
I just got the Email telling me the same thing thanks you Im posting it NOW!
Rasheed is the only person who wears his Nikes with the strap around the back so they hang off of his shoes from behind. Clearly a sheedism.
At the charity stripe, Sheed likes to bounce the ball with his left. Then he swipes his brow with his right hand. This is pretty much automatic everytime.
Sometimes during the huddle when they all do the circle and turn, Rasheed puts his back to every body and turns on there backs.
in pregame, Sheed and Maurice always shoot half court shots. Dale will sometimes shoot with them. – Maranda
i forgot.. Sheed and Maurice shoot half court shots before they go back to the locker room and on the visitors side after they all went back to the locker room. And right before they go back they shoot a 3-pointer from the top corner by the visitors bench, if they miss they sometimes try another. – Maranda
Sheed also after being annouced runs the endline while everyone else is just standing around. he usually runs to about the 1/4 court of the oposing team and back.
-Ryan
one more i just thought of during the pre game warmups sheed must always take like 5-10 left handed threes. just another quirky little thing that sheed does.
RYan
sheed is one of the few defenders who when defending a break (which is getting rare these days at least outside of the playoffs) will keep his back to the defender until he tries to make his defensive move. It actually works pretty well I guess being a near 7 footer helps but it seems like it keeps them from knowing where he is going to defend from.
Probably my favorite ‘sheedism’- in the playoffs (I really dont get to watch much of the regular season) if there is a dead play and someone on the other team throws up a shot sorta just for the hell of it or practice or whatever if sheed is anywhere by the basket he will not let it go in.
oh and talking about goaltending reminds me…. i always liked sheed like back in his carolina days but (kinda sadly) one of the reasons i really started to be a sheed rider was nba streets the video game; sheed is by far the best player in the game no question.

alright sorry ill stop here in a second. what really got me into sheed was watching him in portland always up against the lakers in the playoffs, (i think the blazers went every year he was with them) but i regress again my point….. FADE AWAY 3s!!! that used to be at least in my eyes his trademark. which like i said that is when i really took notice – back at unc he lead the acc in shooting % and then i see him nailing fadeaway 3s. I was fu@#ing amazed.
btw you dont have any clips and stuff from his old blazer days do you???? oh yea and where are my manors thanks for the site it doesnt make me feel so alone. I swear most people i know dont like the guy or at least tell me he is over rated.
thanks,
ben
sorry its kinda been a long night, what i meant to say was TURN AROUND fade away 3s
