“The Rasheed A. Wallace Foundation and Detroit Pistons unveiled a renovated resource center at Kettering High School in Detroit on March 21 as part of NBA Cares and Read to Achieve. The program began in the auditorium, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Pistons All-Star forward Rasheed Wallace and his wife Fatima and mother Jackie. The 5,000 square foot library underwent a complete transformation over the past six weeks, including new carpet, paint, computers, books and furniture. The room now features a “College and Career Corner” to assist students in preparing for their future, as well as a reading lounge for students and teachers to relax and pick up a book or access a computer. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, students participated in educational and literacy activities with Wallace and other Read to Achieve All-Stars.” Via Pistons.com
