Detroit Basketball Fever is happening across the country right now. Let’s take a look at Tuesday’s game against the Timberwolves. Sheed has a great match up coming in Garnett. This is what we call “Testing your Game,” that’s right Sheed has always stepped up to a challenge and none is greater than “THE BIG TICKET,” Kevin Garnett. Sheed vs. KG has always been one of those great NBA battles, like Kobe vs. MJ, Wilt vs. Russell, and Magic vs. Bird. Yes folks it’s on that level! Throw the competing teams out the window for a second; this is man vs. man, superstar vs. superstar. It doesn’t get any better than this, now let’s get to the match ups.

Centers – Eddie Griffin vs. Ben (Big Body) Wallace – Several years ago this would have been a wonderful match up, but Eddie Griffin has seen better days. Eddie’s a recovering alcoholic who’s just starting to get his life back together.
Advantage – Detroit

Power Forwards – Kevin (Big Ticket) vs. Sheed – I spoke about this in the beginning and I still stand by it. Get those TIVO’s Ready it’s going to be a battle.
Advantage – Neither

Small Forwards – Wally (Wally World) Szczerbiak vs. Tayshaun Prince – If you saw the clip of Tayshaun during his Kentucky days you already know that Tayshaun’s a great shooter. Well, Wally World has a nice jumper too, just not as nice as Tay’s.
Advantage – Detroit

Shooting Guards Trenton Hassell vs. Richard (Rip) Hamilton – Hassell is known as a pretty good defender and Rip has the best mid range jumper in the NBA today. I need not go on; pretty good is not good enough.
Advantage – Detroit

Point Guards – Marko “The European Gigolo” Jaric vs. Chauncey “MVP” Billups – Jaric will be a good NBA point guard in about 2 or 3 years, Chauncey Billups is already one of the best. The Game is on Tuesday, so maybe in another 2 or 3 years this will be a good match up.
Advantage – Detroit

Benches – T-Pups – Rashad McCants, Anthony Carter, Ronald Dupree (former Piston), Troy Hudson vs. Pistons – Dice, Carlos Delfino, Carlos Arroyo, Mo Evans – No contest…….
Wouldn’t it be cool if the Pistons bench had a nickname again?
Advantage – Detroit

Coaches – Dwayne Casey vs. Flip – Just like the old saying goes, the teacher will always be better than the student, no matter what. Get out the Kleenex, because when KG and Flip hug it’s going to be one of those moments.
Side note – Sorry McHale, I guess you’ve seen the mistake you made now, just like Larry Brown did the other night. Don’t you wish you could have Flip back just for one week?

The T-Pups will have their heads between their legs after this one.

A Detroit win of course.

Look out for Wally World in this game. You know Wally is going to be hyped after his fellow Miami RedHawk and Pittsburgh Steeler Big Ben qualified for the Super Bowl in Detroit. Thankfully we have our own Big Ben and about three guys on our bench who would start fro the T-Wolves. Let’s just hope there ‘s no hangover from another tough game with the Rockets a’la the Dallas game.

I don’t understand how you can call Kobe v. MJ an great NBA matchup like Magic v. Bird…?!? Bryant and Jordan don’t play the game at the same time and they’re only comparable in their scoring abilities in different eras of the game. They never met in the finals or anything of that sort, so they can’t be mentioned in the same breath as Magic v. Bird
