Pistons Vs. Spurs January 12th Preview

by | Jan 11, 2006 | 1 comment

ROUND 2, as it officially will be called begins today… Detroit won the first of this 2 round regular season fight in a convincing fashion. That was a game where Detroit wanted to release that bit of pent up anger following the game 7 loss in the NBA Finals. Detroit showed the WHOLE WORLD why they are the best team in basketball, PERIOD. As we begin ROUND 2, let’s get into those important match-ups.

Centers – Rasho Nesterovic, Nazr Mohammed Vs. Ben Wallace

Lines from ROUND 1
Spurs Two Centers Combined: 11 PTS, 7 REBS, 0 BLKS, 1 TO
Vs.
Ben Wallace: 10 PTS, 21 REBS, 2 BLKS, 2 TO

Like I’ve said before NO CONTEST!!!!!! The Stats tell the story here and also the ROUND 1 victory.
Advantage – DETROIT

Power Forwards – Tim (The Robot) Duncan Vs. SHEEEED

Lines from ROUND 1
Tim Bot: 18 PTS, 11 REBS, 2 STLS, 2 TO
Vs.
Sheeeed: 14 PTS, 6 REBS, 2 BLKS, 1 TO

Sheed was given a tech in the 2nd qtr. of ROUND 1, limiting his minutes in the first game. But we all know what Sheed does in BIG GAMES. As it stands right now, at this point in the season, neither player holds an advantage.
Advantage – NEITHER

Small Forwards – Bruce (I’m a HACK) Bowen Vs. The Prince of the Palace

Lines from ROUND 1
Hacker: 9 PTS, 3 REBS, 7 HACKS. So actually he was supposed to have 6 fouls instead of 1 for the game.
Vs.
Tay: 9 PTS, 5 REBS, 1 THREE POINTER

What Tay does on the floor never shows up in the stat sheets. So I just hope THE HACKER doesn’t hit Tay too hard.
Advantage – DETROIT

Shooting Guards – Manu Ginobli Vs. RIP

Lines from ROUND 1
Manu did not play in ROUND 1.
Vs.
Rip: 11 PTS, 3 ASSISTS, also tiring out the defense with his unbelievable stamina.

This is the MATCHUP everybody has been waiting for… RIP WILL ONCE AGAIN prove to the WORLD why he should be in this year’s All-Star game by taking down one of the game’s top foreign players. Manu has no defense RIP has some.
Advantage – DETROIT

Point Guard – Tony (I’m a RAP STAR) Parker Vs. Chauncey (MVP) Billups

Lines from ROUND 1
RAPSTAR Parker: 19 PTS, 4 ASSISTS, 3 STLS, 2 TO
Vs.
SUPERSTAR Billups: 20 PTS, 6 REBS, 3 ASSISTS, 1 STLS, 1 TO

An OVERLY hyped match-up that somewhat lived up to it’s billing. Tony Parker has once again been opening up his mouth. Would someone please tell this pint sized mini me that he is NOT SHAQ; you can’t rap or talk smack like SHAQ! Parker is convinced that he is so much better than Chauncey. Well I’m sorry to say Mr. Parker, or French Hip Hop star, or whatever else you want to call yourself these days, but the MVP will once again show the WORLD why he’s the 2nd best point guard in the League.
Advantage – DETROIT

The Benches – The Spurs (Nick Van Excel, Robert Horry, Brent Barry, Fabriciio Oberto) Vs. The Pistons (Dice, Mo Evans, Carlos Delfino, and Dale Davis)

Lines from ROUND 1
Spurs: 20 PTS, 10 REBS, 8 ASSTS, 3 TO
Vs.
Pistons: 21 PTS, 17 REBS, 6 ASSTS, 3 TO

The key stat line from ROUND 1 is Rebs. We all know that when the bench comes into a game for any team their shooting % drops. Good rebounding and defense is what wins the bench battles. As we all know by now Arroyo is suspended and will not play.
Advantage – DETROIT

Beating the Spurs a second time in a row PRICELESS!!!!!!!!
Well as I predicted the first time these two teams played, the Pistons WILL win and win BIG!!!

So until next time,
IN SHEED WE TRUST!!!

Parker should just give up like his French brethren have been doing for years. He is a pain in the ass, and I hope the Pistons don’t forget how to take care of the little man. No, not a bike cop in San Antonio. No,Chauncey does not need to do his woman. They need to foul him hard, I mean Chaney hard, to get his attention about not coming in the lane. Then he will just shoot that little jumper of his, and it’s an easy game.
