Here’s one of the few teams in the league we haven’t seen at all this year, in the preseason or the regular season. The Cavs are an interesting team, they remind me of The Duke Tea, full of experience and youthful players but still unsure of their potential. We’ve got a little drama as far as the front office administration goes, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert (Michigan Native) really wanted to buy The Pistons from Mr. Davidson but had to settle for The Cavs instead. He has secretly tried to get several front office people from The Pistons to work for him when he acquired The Cavs. You know Tom Wilson and Mr. D were not happy about this at all. Let’s not forget what Rip did last year to The Cavs, I know that Lebron has not forgotten Rip hit them for 44 last year and Lebron said that’s the most anyone’s ever scored against him. So expect King James to be up for this one. Let’s get to the match ups.
C – Zydrunas (Z) IIlgauskas vs. Ben “Big Body” Wallace – Believe it or not Z has actually given Body problems in the past because he does have a offensive game and doesn’t just use his height and weight to score. We know “Body” is down to do the dirty work.
Advantage – Neither
PF – Drew (The Goods) Gooden vs. SHEED – A very good match up, Sheed will face a younger version of himself in Gooden. Drew has a pretty good jump shot and a nice post game, but the student will never beat the teacher!
Advantage – SHEEEEEED!!
SF – King James vs. Tayshaun Prince – This will be the MATCH UP TO WATCH, Tayshaun’s D vs. King James explosive offense. This is a HUGE HUGE HUGE MATCHUP for King James, will he show up and hold up the NBA’s claim that “HE’S THE ONE” or will he fold and let the world see that he’s not ready just yet to claim the title of the “ONE”!
Advantage – Neither
SG – Larry (Smooth) Hughes vs. Richard (Rip) Hamilton – Same build, same jersey number, similar style of play. Opps there’s one thing that separates these two finally. Smooth 0 Rings, Rip 1 Ring.
Advantage – Rip
PG – Eric Snow vs. Chauncey (MVP) Billups – NO CONTEST!!! This one is so uneven and unfair it’s not even funny.
Advantage – Billups
Benches – Cavs Damon (BIG MOUTH) Jones, Donyell Marshall vs. Pistons Dice, Mo Evans, Carlos Delfino and Carlos Arroyo. Once again NOT EVEN FAIR. NO CONTEST!!!!!!
Advantage – Pistons
Coaches – Mike Brown vs. Flip – New kid on the block vs. the Veteran, the Veteran wins every time.
Advantage – Pistons
Prediction Cavs-88 Pistons – 104

Matchups are pretty dead on for this one, but the score seems a little lop-sidded. If James is James and Z is getting his shot I like the Cavs chances to push 100. After the Miami game though the only games on the schedule that scare me are trips to SA and Cleveland. The Cavs are good and if Damon Jones is hitting threes like he did in Milwaukee he can really help against the Stones. What are your thoughts on 72 wins? I think they have a very real chance.
Hey, love your blog. King James is out to make a point, the problem is if he goes off in the scoring column…no one else will be involved. Look for this to be an easier game than most think it should be. The Pistons, thus far, have only taken it easy on bad teams. Easy W with Prince getting more points than normal.
I believe we will go 74-8. YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST!!!!
