Rasheed Wallace Spin DanceI stumbled upon this #Pistons goodie in my archives today and thought it might put a smile on your face.

Detroit may not be playing as well as when Sheed, Chauncey and Ben Wallace were All Stars, but it’s moments like this that have nothing to do with win or losses that make you remember the good times at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

I’m sure Sheed can take Alfonso Ribeiro in a dance off.

It’s like a Charlie Brown Christmas, you can’t go the holiday season without watching Rasheed Wallace and company remix Jingle Bells.

Here you have it, a Pistons rendition of Jingle Bells. Featuring Jason Maxiell, Amir Johnson, Will Blalock (probably his biggest staring role one court or off) and the oh so jolly Rasheed Wallace.

Happy Holidays

The #Pistons lost to the Pacers Saturday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills 88-77.  I could go into my normal recap style of why, how and who did what, but I just feel like venting frustrations a little.

As a fan who goes to her fair share of games for more than 20 years, it’s getting pretty depressing at The Palace of Auburn Hills.  It’s rough heading out to a mid-week game against the Cavaliers.  I had my pick of parking spaces, I didn’t wait in line at any time for a beverage.  Heck I never even had to wait in line to use the restroom. But most of all, I didn’t get threatened by a rabid Cavs fan who infiltrated our home court.

Those things may sound petty, but it just goes to show you the state of our beloved team.  It’s not like this team hasn’t gone though tough times.  Most of us remember the “Teal Years” and some of us even remember the pre-Isiah days.  But there is something a bit different about what’s going on and how it unfolded the past few seasons.

Sure we miss Chauncey, and it’s nice to see Rasheed back screaming “Ball Don’t Lie” for the Knicks, but it was time to move on from a team that just couldn’t win together anymore.  The thing that bothers me is the way it happened was almost spirit crushing from a fans perspective.  As we watched the team go from contenders to pretenders in a little more than a season, I don’t think we actually thought it would get as bad as it did.

We had a first time NBA coach who really was in over his head.  We had another coach that had a horrible and public fight with a star player that led to a mutiny. We had a beloved owner pass away that left an unbelievable legacy and the team in limbo until his widow could sell the team.

We also have Bandwagon fans, you know it and I know it.  If you’re reading this, you’re probably not one of them, but the Piston have the biggest “Bandwagon Cats” (as Sheed would say) as fans as any team in Michigan.  I’m almost embarrassed by it.  I hate everything about the Cleveland Cavaliers, the building they play in and their fans, but kudos to them for packing The Q on a week day game against the Pistons.

Are you depressed yet?

I could go and on and on.

I think what’s bothering me most of all lately is the fact that I think this team is on the cusp.  I think they should be winning more than they are.  I’m so over the company line of why they  aren’t winning, they’re tired, they’re on long road trip…blah blah blah.  They have young talent that just needs the right direction. They need to learn how to win and they need something or someone to help them do that.

Andre Drummond Pistons-vs-SunsWe all think that Andre Drummond should play more, he’s even has heard the rumblings. It doesn’t look like this team is playoff bound so why not see what kind of players we have and what we need to do to get to the next level? Sure they sent Middletion and English to the D-League to get playing time and we know that Kravtsov is a project but that’s not everything.

Why is Jerebko the new Charlie V? What’s going on with Greg Monroe’s regression? Why play Maggette so much when he’s really just a one and done? Can the Pistons ever get anything for Austin Day?  Will Dumars ever make a move? When will Frank show us that he’s the guy for the job?

Has the holiday depression set in yet?

I know it’s tough to keep supporting a team when they’re not winning, but it’s what real fans do. Sure there isn’t the fire (literally they don’t have the pre-game fire anymore)  there once was at the Palace, but it’s still great heading out to the Palace to support your team, not just the Bel Biv Devoe half time show. You really should take advantage of going to a game if you haven’t in a while, they’re begging for people in the seats and are practically giving tickets away.  When you can go to a Pistons game for less than going to a movie you know times are really tough.

Heck if you head out to the game and see me we can commiserate together.

So don’t let the Pistons get you down this holiday season, just enjoy them for what they are.  But make sure you ask Santa to give them a hand.

The 3-10 #Pistons are in New York to take on the 8-3 #Knicks.

  • The good: The Pistons should be able to feed off the nice win Friday night at the Palace against the Raptors.
  • The bad: The Pistons haven’t fared very well against the Knicks, especially in the Garden.  And considering that the Kicks are one of the better teams in the league coming into the game on a two game losing streak just means extra trouble for the struggling Pistons.
  • The unknown: How many Ball Don’t Lie’s are we going to get from Sheed?

Tip off is at 1:00 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports . If you can’t catch the game on TV, catch it on the radio over at 97.1 the Ticket.

Rasheed Wallace BodybuilderIt seems as though the Knicks have a Need4Sheed.

“Rasheed Wallace has told the Knicks he has elected to come out of retirement and join Monday’s training camp, according to an NBA source.

The Knicks could announce the move as soon as today. The 6-foot-11 Wallace, who worked out with the Knicks over the weekend, retired two years ago after a disappointing season with Boston. His agent Bill Strickland told The Post this morning he has not begun formal contract negotiations with the Knicks and wouldn’t confirm the decision was made.

Wallace would make the veteran’s minimum of 1.7 million. Strickland said if Wallace plays it would only be with the Knicks because of his relationship with coach Mike Woodson, who was a Pistons assistant when Detroit won the title with Wallace as one of its stars.” Via The NY Post

We all know Sheed and realized he’s been off for an entire season, but something tells me he’s got a “little” left to help a team out.  I’m just wondering what kind of shape he’s in.  The last time I caught a glimpse of him a few month ago he didn’t look like he was in playing shape.  So…that seems about right.

Rasheed Wallace plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Wallace hasn’t played in an NBA game since Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals, alerting the C’s shortly before the game that he planned to retire.

Although he had two years remaining on his contract, Wallace and the Celtics came to terms on a buy-out of the remaining years believed to be worth about $1 million.

His return to action has been rumored for weeks, fueled by a decent showing at  Pro-Am tournament in North Carolina this summer.

It only became heightened by, according to league sources, a renewed conditioning regimen that apparently has him looking better than he has “in years.”

With a roster of 14 players, the Lakers can add Wallace and not have to worry about waiving a player to make room.

His addition will likely fuel rumors that the Lakers will become even more aggressive in their decision to trade away Pau Gasol.Via CSNNE.com

This #Pistons Video has got to put a smile on your face after Detroit’s game against Philadelphia. I didn’t get a chance to watch the game live, but it was on in the distance and I watched the score throughout. I just had a chance to watch the replay and if you’re like me, you don’t want to rehash that one. That’s why I prefer to give you a little video to make you think of better days.

Looks like Rasheed wants to take his talents back to the Basketball court.  According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports Sheed is eying a comeback.

Wallace, who retired after 15 seasons in 2010, has been working out and probing some close league friends about possible destinations to sign for the rest of the season, sources said.

Rasheed Wallace averaged 9.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for the Celtics during the 2009-10 season.

At 6-foot-11, Wallace, 37, had been one of the most versatile and talented power forwards of his era. One league source who has talked with Wallace recently describes him as “serious” about a return to the NBA this season. Nevertheless, no teams contacted by Yahoo! Sports reported that they had any contact with Wallace, or his representative.

When reached on Friday, Wallace’s agent, Bill Strickland, would only tell Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears: “As a veteran player, [Wallace] knows what it takes to be reinstated.”

Wallace holds appeal for several contending teams, but all wonder about his shape and conditioning after sitting out 18 months. Wallace played 79 regular season games for the Celtics in his final year, but the organization never felt he truly got into playing shape until the playoff run to the NBA Finals in 2010. In a limited role, several GMs told Yahoo! they still believe his scoring and defending ability would probably be better than anyone else available to them.

Now let me just say this, I saw Sheed right before Christmas running errands in Rochester and he sure doesn’t look like this.

Rasheed Wallace BodybuilderSo Sheed wants to start playing again and he’s got some conditioning issues…sounds on par to every other season she started.

Looks like even Rasheed has a Need4Sheed.
