Expect to see Jonas Jerebko, who was out Tuesday as well as Mo Cheeks playing a lot of the new fellas and the old (Billups and Stuckey) to try to figure out a rotation for the upcoming season.

Tip off will be 7:30 pm and again won’t be locally broadcast on TV, but you can listen to it on 950AM.  If you want to check the game out yourself you can head on over to the Palace to watch live.  I’m not going to lie, I didn’t pay a bit of attention to the first pre-season game since I had to chance to go see the Tigers tie their series with the A’s 2 games all.  I’m not counting on paying much attention tonight either considering it’s Winner take all for the Tigers tonight in Oakland.

Go TigersHave a blast if you head out to the Pistons – Heat game, I’ll be glued to my TV to watch the ALDS.

Go Pistons but really…….GO TIGERS!

Chauncey BillupsThere hasn’t been this much hype around the Detroit Pistons start of the season in quite some time.

The boys may not be starting the season tomorrow, but you can get a chance to see the New Look Pistons open up their pre-season Tuesday night against Maccabi Haifa – a professional Israeli club.

Though just a pre-season game it will be fun to take a look at a Detroit Pistons team that takes the court looking as different as can be. If you’re excited to see this seasons Draft class, the new acquisitions, the return of Mr. Big Shot or maybe just want to see how Sheed’s progressed with Andre Dummond, you’re in for a treat.

Who you many not see is:
Greg Monroe, who is questionable with a sore hamstring and sat out of practice. You also may not see Luigi Datome (hamstring) and Peyton Siva (calf) didn’t participate in Monday’s practice either.

Tip off is at 7:30 pm, but won’t be broadcast on local TV, but you can still head on down to the Palace to catch them live.

The Pistons kick off the preseason Wednesday night at the Palace. That may not excite most people, but there are many Pistons fans that can’t wait to see what the future holds for their team.

I’ll admit that I’ve taken a little extra time on my summer vacation, heck I haven’t even tooned Viacheslav Kravtsov, or learned how to spell his name for that matter, but I really haven’t been this excited to watch this team in quite some time.

No, they’re not vying for championships, but there seems like there may be some magic surrounding the team again.

  • What will Kyle Singler, who’s seemed to have a very productive season in Europe bring to the team?
  • Is Andre Drummond all that we hope he’s going to be?
  • Will Brandon Knight have a breakout season?
  • Will we have a Need4Swede?
  • Can Greg Monroe make the All Star team?
  • Is Jason Maxiell going to see any time?
  • We don’t have Ben Gordon right?
  • Will Rodney Stuckey be the leader that they wanted him to be?
  • Can Austin Daye prove he should be in this league?
  • Will Kim English and Khris Middleton make the roster?
  • Can Corey Maggette still contribute?
  • Can Will still be Bynumite?
  • Will Monroe, Drummond and Kravtsov be our Big Three?
  • Will Tayshaun play the entire season for Detroit or be traded?
  • Will Ben Wallace really stay retired? The other Wallace is back with NY.
  • Will Charlie Villanueva play more minutes than me?
  • Will Tom Gores be the next contestant on Dancing with the Stars?

So many questions, and a full season for the answers.

It’s not always sexy to pay attention to NBA preseason games, but I for one love to soak things up and take a look at what’s new with the Pistons.

May the Gores be with all of us…

The Pistons take on the Raptors Wednesday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Tip off is at 7:30 and will be broadcast on FSN Detroit.

Finally…a Pistons pre-season game on television. The Pistons are at the Palace to host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight for their final exhibition game of this season.

Tip off is at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast of Fox Sports Detroit. If you can’t catch the action on TV, you can follow the game over at or listen to the action over at 9.71 The Ticket.

Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments or CHAT LIVE
during the game.

The Pistons are in Toledo tonight to take on John Wall and the Washington Wizards tonight. This will be a treat for the tons of Pistons fans that live in the Toledo area. This is another pre-season game that you won’t see on TV, but you can follow it on or listen to the radio broadcast over at 97.1 The Ticket. Tip off is at 7pm and you may or may not be able to catch this one ONLINE.

Early in the first quarter when the The Swede went down and didn’t get up quickly, you could tell by the look on his face it might just be serious. Turns out Jonas Jerebko
sustained what might be a significant injury to his right Achilles tendon.

The Pistons have initially called Jerebko’s injury a strain but said they would know more after he was examined by team doctors Wednesday. Jerebko left the locker room on crutches.

The second half didn’t help either with rookie Terrico White suffering a broken bone in his right foot.

I know this hurts the development of White, but a serious injury to Jerebko is just what the Pistons don’t need. Especially after their showing Tuesday night’s showing in Miami.

The 3-1 Pistons take on the 2-1 Mavericks tonight in Dallas.  Another non televised game for us, but those lucky enough to have HDNet or NBATV can catch a glimpse of the Pistons.  Tip is at 8:30 and you can catch it on 950 AM or stream it live through

It looks like Tayshaun will likely sit out with his toe injury and we probably shouldn’t expect to see Mr. Villanueva on court until Saturday’s game against Memphis.

  • Pistons fall in Grand Rapids 101-98, Bynum…ite lead the way with 20 while Daye and Gordon added 10 each and Jerebko put up nine.
  • Tayshaun Prince cut his toe in the loss and may not play against Dallas.
  • From Need4Sheed reader Brett Sanders who was in Grand Rapids for Tuesday night’s loss to the Wizards “I blame the loss on the flight crew / trampoline dunkers , they blew half of the net off then the Pistons didn’t get to warm up after the half and came out flat in the 3rd.”
  • Unfortunately we still haven’t gotten a glimpse of Charlie Villanueva but he’s hoping to play Saturday.
  • Jonas Jerebko is a bright spot in Pistons loss.
  • Austin Daye making the most of the preseason.
  • Kuester is a big hit with the players?????
  • Kwame Brown’s future is in his own hands.
  • Is the depth of the Pistons really that promising? I think it is.
  • Matt Watson’s Fanshouse Pistons Preview.
  • Watch it, this could be Stucktacular…..
  • Ben Gordon the anti Iverson “”I’ll play whenever they want me to play,” he said. “I’ve come off the bench before. I’ve started. It really doesn’t matter.” - Gordon ready to earn his contract.
  • I still miss my friend Amir Johnson, he’s making a great impression in Toronto. Good luck AJ.
  • Bynum has been impressive and he credits some of his success to Gilbert Arenas.
  • BYNUMITE Youtube highlight mix.

Ben Gordon led Detroit with 22 points in the Pistons 100-91 victory over the Atlanta Hawks which included this ridiculous three point buzzer beater to end the third quarter.

Rodney Stuckey also had his own buzzer beating jumper to take a 49-46 lead at the half finishing the game with 20 points. Knock it down and send him flying.

Rip Hamilton dropped 15 in another foul laden game thanks to the replacement referees.   The teams combined to commit 57 fouls, leading to 59 free throws.

Those Pistons fans who where out at the game were treated to a little Chucky Atkins in Sunday nights win. Atkins, who played seven minutes scored three points for Detroit.

The Pistons would like to keep the pre-season perfect as they take on The Bucks tonight at The Palace of Auburn Hills.  Tip off is at 7:30, but unfortunately this one won’t be broadcast on television.  If you want to catch the game you will have to tune into 97.1 The Ticket where of course Matt Dery will be on the pre and post game to take your calls and Ticket Texts (text 97136 from your mobile phone). Charlie Villanueva is not expecting to play tonight against his old squad while he nurses his sore hammy.

Too bad Pistons fans can’t see what Carlos Delfino does against his former team.

Follow the game online or on the radio at 97.1 and leave your thoughts in the comments.
