The Pistons open the 2012-2013 season at home on October 31st against the Houston Rockets, so get your Andre Drummond costumes out and head on over to the Palace of Auburn Hills on Halloween.

So far the Pistons have just 2 nationally televised games on the schedule but that’s not set in stone, remember they took one away from them last season and if this team catches fire, you can be that they’ll add one here or there on TNT or ESPN (we hope).

  • From the Comments - The Jan 17th game vs NYK is at an “International Venue” btw.

I’ve updated the schedule on the sidebar of the website.

Have you picked your all time Pistons lineup yet?

In David Aldridge’s NBA.com article chronicleing the ‘Melo saga he threw in this line.

“A league source said Denver had made a recent attempt to pry Detroit guard Rip Hamilton from the Pistons without success to show Anthony that the organization could still put talented players around him.”

Most Pistons fan would think this was possible considering the fact that Rip and Chauncey are 2 peas in a pod but Pistons insiders don’t buy this one.

Just follow Matt Dery @deryNBA as well as M’Live’s Chris Iott @Chris_Iott and the Vincent Goodwill  @vgoodwill of the Detroit News on Twitter for the inside scoop.

If you really think about it, what could Denver offer Detroit for Rip?  Rip has 38 million over the next three seasons.  To keep  Mello, Chancey, Rip together they would have to give up Nene and more which I doubt would happen.

Trust Matt and the gang…this one is doesn’t work.

UPDATE: From Chris Iott of MLive

“A source with the Detroit Pistons said today that there is absolutely no truth to the report that the Denver Nuggets tried to acquire Pistons guard Richard Hamilton in a last-ditch effort to keep Carmelo Anthony in Denver.”

Need4Sheed InterviewI was lucky enough to score an interview with someone who I have been reading since I used to actually hold a newspaper in my hand and turn the pages. Dana Gauruder has been giving us the Pistons inside scoop for 10 years and he was kind enough to let me bombard him with questions that Pistons fans need the answers to.

The Pistons vs. The cavaliers

The 23-44 Pistons are hosting the 52-15 Cleveland Cavaliers tonight at the Palace.  One hopes that they will at least put up a fight after last night’s debacle against the Celtics.

If you didn’t look at the front page of NBA.com, you missed this headline and article.
Davidson’s death, rough economy lead to Pistons’ demise

A lot of truth there and pretty fitting after the Pistons performance last night.

Ben Wallace is still listed as day to day.
Rodney has no timetable on his return.
No conformation whether Tayshaun will play or not.

With Jonas Jerebko now starting at power forward, Kuester would have to go in another direction for Prince’s replacement – perhaps Austin Daye, who has a pair of starts already under his belt. Daye totaled 29 points and 11 rebounds in starts on Nov. 27 against the Clippers and Jan. 18 against the Knicks. He scored a career-high 16 points at New York. Via Ryan Pretzer at Pistons.com
