mitchell sivaThe Pistons announced Thursday that Tony Mitchell and Peyton Siva will be sent to their D-League affiliate in Fort Wayne.

Mitchell saw very little minutes this season, while Siva had a chance with the injuries to Chauncey Billups and Will Bynum. It’s a great chance for the pair to get some valuable playing time, especially Siva, who showed promise, but clearly wasn’t ready to run the show.

Fort Wayne Mad Ants Friday night loss to Maine

  • Khris Middleton with 19 points, nine boards, three assist and a steal.
  • Kim English with 24 points, three steals, three assists and six boards.

The #Pistons announced that they were assigning Khris Middleton and Kim English to the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA D-League. The two are being sent down to get some playing time.  They shouldn’t be gone very long.  It looks like they’ll be in Ft Wayne for the Mad Ants three home game stint and then return to the Pistons.

The playing time with the team should be valuable for the rookies who havn’t seen much time, but I’m sure most of you would like to see Slava Kravtsov send down for some playing time too.  He hasn’t dressed for a single regular season game, and many want to see what the Ukrainian center can do. He may just be the next to go.

You can follow Middleton and English at the Mad Ants site.

The 3-12 are back home to host the 7-6 Memphis Grizzles. The Grizzlies will try to take Friday night’s game at the Palace to make it back-to-back road games for the first time in nearly a year. Meanwhile Detroit would like to avoid their first five game home losing streak since 2009-10.

  • The good: More time on the floor for Brandon Knight.  The Pistons help Michigan Come Together.
  • The bad: Stuckey out as well as Bynum, Mad Ants call up and new Piston Walker Russell may just see some time.  The Pistons have lost their last three games against Memphis.
  • Who to watch: Rudy Gay and Marc Gasol.
  • The unknown: Will Greg Monroe look as good on court as his 70′s giveaway poster tonight?  Will and can Tayshuan Prince carry Detroit again?  Will Charlie V play anytime soon?

Check out tonight’s game against  Memphis or Portland for as little as 3 dollars!

Tip off is at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports. If you can’t catch the game on TV, catch it on the radio over at 97.1 the Ticket.
