The #Pistons broke a seven game Knicks losing streak Tuesday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills with a 92-86 win. Detroit who were without both Chancey Billups and Will Bynum, were led by Rodney Stuckey with 21 points off the bench.

Key Points

  • Rodney Stuckey had another solid game. Not only did he lead Detroit, but he stepped up in when they needed him. With the two backup PG’s out and Brandon Jennings limited time on the court with an upset stomach, Stuckey’s line was great. Rodney went 8-of-14 with 5 assists and a steal in 31 minutes on the floor. This is by far one of the best starts to the season for Stucky, who is in the last year of his contract in Detroit.
  • Stuckey’ second half scoring run was a contributing factor in this win.
  • Nothing came of the J.R. Smith – Brandon Jennings riff. They barley were on court at the same time together.
  • They held the Knicks under 100 points, but the defense still looked horrible at times.
  • Someone call Ben Wallace and get him to show this team how to play some D.
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope made his third start in the Tuesday night. Though he’s really not hitting his shots yet, he did make a couple of consecutive three’s and had some nice defensive stops. Kentavious finished with 13 points on 4-of-12 shooting with four boards, and a steal in 29 minutes on the floor.
  • Double-double’s for bot Monroe and Drummond.
  • Andre was…Andre scoring 13 with 11 boards and three blocked shots on the night. I know this sounds optimistic, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he started averaging 3 blocks a night.

  • That’s five consecutive double-double’s for Dre.
  • It was nice to see the Pistons get a win on the ninth anniversary of one of the worst sports incidents ever. I was there for The Malace at The Palace and I hope to never witness anything like that ever again.
  • Five Pistons in double figures.
  • I’d love to see Singler’s shot start to fall consistently as well as a spark of something from Datome.
  • Smith with another good game putting up 19 with five boards, and a steal in 41 minutes on the floor.
  • I’d love to see Josh Smith with a better shot selection. You can blame some of them by him getting the ball late in the shot clock, but sometimes he just makes bad decisions.

  • Greg Monroe dropped 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting with 11 boards, but turned the ball over five times.
  • The Pistons all but had this one locked up late in the fourth until the Knicks went on a 7-0 run to make things interesting.
  • Has Villanueva played more than 3 minutes all season long? And I’m so not complaining about that.
  • Jennings scored two points, with seven assists, a blocked shots, and a steal in 26 minutes on the floor.
  • Peyton Siva got some time on the floor and did a good job of running the show.
  • Detroit came into the game allowing a league-worst 48.9% shooting from the field. The held the Knicks to 43.4 percent shooting on the night.
  • Spotted actors Justin Bartha and Jesse Eisenberg right by the Pistons bench. I thought it was them but wasn’t sure till I was leaving the game. Little known fact, Justin Bartha grew up in Michigan graduating from West Bloomfield High school.

  • Short turnaround for the Pistons who will play Wednesday night in Atlanta. This will be the first time Josh Smith will play in Atlanta after spending his entire career there.
