Detroit set a NBA playoff record Tuesday night in their 91-86 victory against Orlando by committing just three turnovers in the game, none of which came in a tight second half. Down to the wire it went again as the Pistons, minus Chauncey Billups, showed The Magic they know how to close out games. It took a signature Tayshaun Prince Block on Hedo Turkoglu and key free throws by Rip Hamilton to seal the series for The Pistons.

The Pistons are now on their way to a sixth consecutive trip to The Eastern Conference Finals, they await the winner of the Celtics – Cavaliers series to begin their goal of reaching the NBA Finals again.

Key Points:

Antonio McDyess a double-double with 17 points, 11 boards and a takeaway. McDyess was everywhere on the defensive end and it was Dyess that kept the Pistons in the game when they couldn’t knock down a shot.

Dyess played with so much heart, but that’s nothing unusual, little did we know that he found out his Grandmother passed away when he got to the Palace before the game. “She was my mother, basically,” McDyess said. “The most important thing for me is that she had an opportunity to see me play in the league and I had the opportunity to take away all of her worries financially.” Via NBA.com . My prayers go out to Antonio and his family at this difficult time. I have said it before and I will say it again, I love Antonio McDyess.

Photo/Getty Images

Then there was his fury and determination that led to him to the foul line late in the game. It’s just too bad his buckets got waived off.

“It made me think she was looking down upon us, definitely, and I’ll definitely dedicate this win to her because she never missed a game,” McDyess said. “She always called me, always talking about the game. She loved the Pistons. To have the opportunity to win this game on such an important day of her passing brings tears to my eyes, pretty much. I tried not to think about it when I was on the court. She was definitely with me.” Via The Detroit News.

Just three turnovers in one game is an amazing feat. On the opposite end of that, the Magic were comically handing the ball over to Detroit all game long.

What is a Pistons game without a Richard Hamilton to Tayshaun Price Alley Oop?

Dyess post game interview.

If there was ever a time to do this for Dyess…this is it.

I don’t know what it is about broadcasts but they don’t quite capture the intensity or noise in the Palace. I can tell you with all honesty that I screamed, whistled and clapped so hard the entire game that I became dizzy. I am paying this morning with a headache and a voice that doesn’t register beyond a whisper.

So what if Dwight Howard put up a double-double, it was as if he wasn’t even on court. Had he knocked down his free throws things may have turned out better for his tea. He went 6-for-15 from the line. I don’t care what you tell me, the Pistons, the crowd and the pressure rattled him.

Could Rodney have done better in Chauncey’s absence? Stuck played like a vet putting up 15 points with 6 assists and 2 steals while running the floor like a pro. And how about this gem to Tayshaun Prince for the trey to put the Pistons up 76-70 in the fourth.

Courtesy of The Detroit Pistons, The NBA and TNT

I will admit it now, I was a bit worried that Stuckey was in the game late in the fourth quarter, but he soon gained my confidence. I just kept thinking, this kid isn’t turning the ball over. Little did I know until the post game recap by Blaha that not only didn’t he turn the ball over the entire game, but the Pistons set the playoff record.

The Pistons just 3 for 14 from downtown. Sheed himself was 0-for-6 and the entire crowd almost cringed in anticipation every time he put one up.

I don’t know what the broadcast showed, but Chauncey Billups was up on his feet barking orders to his team the entire second half.

What a defensive effort from Detroit. It didn’t matter that they could barely hit a shot, the D kept them in the game. As I was sitting in my seat in the fourth quarter I can remember the Magic being stuck at 70 points for an eternity.

NBA.com Highlights of The Game.

Rip started the game cold, but boy did he do his part to heat the game up. He led the Pistons with 31 points in 41 minutes, surpassing Isiah’s record and leading Detroit to another trip to the ECF. Something must be said for his gritty defensive effort on Lewis while diving for loose balls and pickpocketing the ball 4 times. Rip made it a point to get to the line all game long, it was his late game free throws that clinched it for The Pistons. Mr. Hamilton was a perfect 16-for-16 from the line.

Photo/Getty Images

Rip didn’t even see who blocked the shot late in the game, he just saw some flexin.

Five Pistons in double figures.

Rebound war lost 46-38.

I always enjoy my ride home from the Palace by listening to Matt Dery on WDFN’s post game coverage, but last night I got a chance to talk to him before he went on air. Long and short of our conversation….the Magic choked.

Surprisingly Dwight Howard walked off court as Rasheed Wallace was walking over to shake his hand after the game. Turkoglu bolted too.

Team Need4Sheed is calling for Tayshaun’s MVP trophy already.

The entire bench saw time on the floor, but Detroit got just 4 points from the bench. Three came from Lindsey and Maxiell’s single point game from a free throw.

How about Maxiell’s block on Rashard Lewis that sent him tumbling to the ground.

Stuckey’s late game layup over Dwight Howard was HUGE. I swear to you I could just hear Blaha saying “Stuckey off the high glass and he hits it” in my head after the play. I don’t care if you are Superman….Rodney isn’t afraid of anyone.

Photo/Getty Images

“(Stuckey’s) never going to back away,” Saunders said. “I remember when he first started playing, I yelled at him about something and he came over and said, ‘Why do you always yell at me and you never yell at Chauncey?’ I said, ‘I yelled at Chauncey a long time ago.’ And the reason I am on him is because I think he can be a special player in this league.” Via The Detroit News

The Pistons didn’t let the Magic score in fourth for the first 8:19 minutes of the quarter. Now that’s some serious D.

Stuckey named to the All Rookie second team.

Though Theo played just 4 minutes, he had 3 key boards in that stretch.

“It’s an awesome feeling, but playing in the conference finals is something we feel we’re supposed to do,” he said. “That’s just our confidence. We feel we have to make it to the Finals, the NBA Finals. That’s our goal.” Via The Detroit News

Yes the Magic stepped out of bounds and kept posses ion, but the Pistons got their share of breaks this series so lets call it even.

I have criticized Flip Saunders for years about his lack of adjustments, but did a heck of a job making adjustments this series and frustrating the hell out of Dwight Howard.

Both Sheed and Rip were 7-for-20 from the floor.

Credit Joe Dumars for the job he’s done with this team. Thanks to Team Need4Sheed Captain Steve for the link.

The Pistons have the chance to end their second round matchup tonight at home against Orlando. Up 3-1 Detroit would love to wrap this one up tonight and wait on the winner of the Celtics – Cavs series for their sixth consecutive trip to The Eastern Conference Finals.

Chauncey will likely be a game time decision again today, though feeling a bit better he’ll only play if he’s close to 100%. Joe Dumars seems to think he may give it a go.

Rip is on the verge of becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer in the playoffs. He needs just 11 points to pass Isiah Thomas, who holds the record at 2,261. Crazy thing is it only has took Rip six seasons to do it.

I’m expecting a fight from both teams tonight, so this one should be good (not that they haven’t been thus far.)

Tip off is at 7:00 PM and will be Nationally televised on TNT. If you can’t catch it on the tube you can always tune in to 1130 AM WDFN The Fan, or stream it live through your computer at NBA.com.

Just in case you were wondering, my playoff Palace ensemble of the Red Sheed and Pistons Kicks is 4-0. See, I do my part.

I am hoping The MOVEMENT travels to The Palace tonight, since it’s clearly growing.

The rest Pistons Fans is up to you in the comments.

We all know now that Jameer Nelson has guaranteed a win for his team tonight against The Pistons. In fact he’s not backing down from his comments, and God Bless him, I don’t blame him one bit and Detroit doesn’t seem to care either. His team in on the brink of a summer vacation and I guess it’s his way of doing his part.

I do however have a little advice for Mr. Nelson, if you are going to make a guarantee like that at least make it sound convincing and please don’t look like you’re going to burst out in tears at any moment. Just check the video.

If anything, Sheed and company will be amused by his comments as well as Rashard Lewis’s statement of superiority. My money in on Detroit!

Jameer, next time go the Sheed route. One of my favorite Sheed lines ever,
“Put it on the front page, back page or the middle of the page, we will win game two.”

Despite having their All Star point guard on the sidelines in dress clothes, The Pistons took care of business to go up 3-1 on the Orlando Magic with their 90-89 win on the road. In a game that had 20 lead changes with Detroit down by as much as 15 and was tied 26 times, the Pistons made it clear why they have been to five consecutive Eastern Conference Finals. They know how to get it done down the wire.

Key Points:

Tayrific Win!

Photo/Getty Images

With seconds left a Rasheed Wallace missed jumper and a HUGE rebound from Antonio McDyess, Tayshaun Prince hit a floating lay in with 8.9 second left in the game that ended up being the game winner.

Courtesy of The Detroit Pistons, The NBA and FSN Detroit

Here is the whole play in it’s entirety. Love Chauncey’s reaction from the sidelines.

Speaking of Chauncey’s reaction, he looked like I do during games. The guy looked like his stomach was in knots from the third quarter on.

How about the job Detroit (Rasheed) did on Dwight Howard. The Pistons took Dwight out of the game keeping him away from the rim and only allowing him to score 8.

Iron man Prince logged almost 46 minutes on the floor.

Detroit now has a chance to seal a trip to their sixth straight Eastern Conference Finals with a win at home on Tuesday.

Dyess, who played with so much heart, was back in the starting lineup for Game Four.

Richard Hamilton led the Pistons with 32 points on 12-for-24 shooting, with 6 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals. Credit Rip’s hot hand for one of the reason why the Pistons came back from a 15 point deficit.

Photo/Getty Images

All hail Lindsey Hunter who came in and disrupted The Magic’s offensive flow. Not to mention the key three pointer to give the Pistons the lead during their 15-0 run.

Dwight Howard did not make a basket after the first quarter.

“If you look, he got shots today,” Van Gundy said. “Our shots were pretty balanced across the board. He got a dozen shots, he just couldn’t get them in the basket. They were physical with him, and how the game is called is a huge thing.” Via MLive Is that Van Gundy complaining about calls?

Jameer Nelson is making a Guarantee. (Thanks to Umar R. for the link) “I’m not trying to be arrogant or cocky or anything like that,” said Nelson after the Magic fell to the Pistons 90-89 Saturday in Game 4. “But tonight, we let it slip out of our hands. Game 2 we let slip out of our hands. “We’re going to win this game in Detroit.” Via The Orlando Sentinel Doesn’t he know he’s not Sheed? Silly little man.

Rodney Stuckey started in place of Chauncey Billups, but early foul trouble limited his getting into the flow of the game. Stuckey finished with 6 points and 4 assists while still looking like a rookie at times.

I just don’t like Dooling, who fouled out and was given a technical foul late in the game after a hard foul on Rip.

Surprised to see Jarvis dressed instead of Amir and even more surprised to see Hayes get time on court. Jarvis knocked down his first shot, a three pointer, but missed his next two and was soon pulled and didn’t return. He played just four minutes.

Tay was fantastic again finishing with 17 points, 5 boards and 5 assists and this signature block. If Tayshaun Prince plays the way he has been in the post season, it’s going to be pretty hard to stop this team.

Courtesy of The Detroit Pistons, The NBA and FSN Detroit

I knew you would want to see the block again and again and again. You have to love how excited my man Blaha gets when he squashes this one.

Gutsy win by the fellas who didn’t give up. It’s nice to be up 3-1 going home.

More rest for Chauncey along with a cushion.

Ben Q Rock from Third Quarter Collapse, who’s much classier than any of the Orlando Media, says this series is a wrap.

“We’ve been through so much,” Lindsey Hunter said. “We’ve let a couple of years slip away when we thought we had a chance to win another championship. This year, the only thing that’s on our mind is getting back to the NBA Finals and not let another opportunity slip away. That’s what this was about tonight.” Via The Detroit News

The Magic led by as much as 15, The Pistons 7.

Rebound war won 39-35 thanks to the 14 Antonio McDyess pulled down. Dyess was the key many times in the game giving Detroit second chances, but none bigger than the final play of the game. McDyess was just as responsible for the final bucket as Tayshaun was. And boy was he happy. A smiling Dyess can light up The Palace.

The old dog had a little bite left in him, but Lindsey Hunter still couldn’t avoid the trappings of advancing basketball age. It was a “three-bagger” for him Saturday. Three ice bags, that is – one on each knee and another wrapped around his right ankle.Even worse, he couldn’t get up from his seat at his locker room cubicle. “I’m as stiff as a board,” he said with a wince, “but it’s still worth it when you can show the young fellas around here that there’s still some game underneath there.” It was there, hiding behind cobwebs and dust, waiting to finally see the light of that inevitable day when the aging warrior is called upon for that final battle.” From Drew Sharp of The Detroit Free Press

Not a huge offensive game from Sheed. His 16 points and 8 boards weren’t as important as his disruptive defensive game.

Big minutes from both teams starters.

Maxiell another zero in his 14 minutes on the floor.

11 points from the Pistons bench, 8 from Hunter and 3 from Hayes.

I called it right before the end of the game, I knew if it was close at the end the Pistons were going to win. My confidence however didn’t slow down my erratic heartbeat.

Seems as though we aren’t the only ones questioning Hedo’s gamble on holding the ball and taking the last shot. “It was his one-on-one play,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. “I don’t know why he held the ball as long as he did, but it was his play.” Via The Detroit News

Chauncey couldn’t have been more excited when the buzzer sounded.

Tayshaun Prince’s post game interview.

Tons of Pistons fans in the crowd.

Lindsey Hunter got the best of Jameer Nelson when he was on court.

The Magic missed eight straight shots and committed two turnovers when Detroit was on their 15-0 run to get back in the game.

Double techs for Howard and Dyess. Looked like a pretty hard pull down of Dyess by Howard if you ask me.

Detroit’s experience was evident.

The Orlando Sentinel keeps stooping lower and lower! This sign is bad enough, but how do you print this picture on your website? I know for a fact that that sign wouldn’t get into The Palace under any circumstances.

I would love a convincing win on Tuesday at The Palace.

The Movement is spreading.

As always I would like to hear what the ESPN broadcasting had to say about the game since I was watching the FSN broadcast with Blaha and Kelser with delight.

Chauncey or no Chauncey, that is the questions. I am sure like me, many of you have been checking news sources diligently as to whether Chauncey is going to play in Orlando for Game Four. As of right now he’s a game time decision, so we wait.

My guess is – best case, Chauncey dresses and gets some time on the floor to see how he feels. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a injured Billups out there starting the game only to make matter worse. Color me red, white and blue, but I think a Chaunceyless Pistons team can get it done today.

Meanwhile, The Orlando Sentinel is acting as Childish as ever (Thanks to Junior for the link). I thought they may have taking enough ribbing from the whole mask thing, but come on you’re a newspaper right? And they get on bloggers for not being professional.

I’m sure Mr. Stuckey will be ready come game time and you can probably put money on seeing Lindsey in uniform today. Detroit looks like they are going to concentrate on shutting down Rashard Lewis after the game he had Wednesday.

Don’t forget Game time is at 5:00 PM and will be locally broadcast on FSN (regular and HD) and Nationally on ESPN. If you can’t catch it on TV you can always tune in to 1130 AM WDFN The Fan or stream it live through your computer at NBA.com.

Thank goodness we get a Blaha back for tonights game. You know the drill, leave ‘em in the comments.

The Orlando Magic took care of business Wednesday night on their home court in Game Three of their second round matchup against The Detroit Pistons. Rashard Lewis scored a career playoff high 33 points for The Magic in an emotional 111-86 win in front of their home crowd. To make matters worse for Detroit, Chauncey Billups went down early in the first quarter with a hamstring injury and didn’t return.

Photo/Getty Images

Key Points:

Chauncey went down early slipping along the baseline after a foul from Jameer Nelson and fell awkwardly doing the splits as he went down. He will be looked at again today, but the Pistons list him as day to day with a hamstring injury.

The Pistons lost their game plan as soon as Billups headed to the locker room. Orlando scored a 10 quick points and the Pistons made just 2 of their first 15 shots. It didn’t help that Lindsey, who would have had plenty of time on court in Chaunceys’ absence, was on the bench in a suit.

Give it up for the Magic who got their first playoff win against Detroit in 5 years.

Rodney Stuckey played well in Chauncey’s absence putting up 19 points with 2 assists and 3 boards. He still makes the rookie mistakes and sometimes looks a little overwhelmed, but it’s nice to know he has the confidence in big situations.

Sheed was agitated and in foul trouble early in the game. Rasheed played just 27 minutes and had a sub par all around night in a game that Detroit could have really used a big game from the big man. Sheed was just 4-for-15 for 11 points and four boards. The refs got under his skin early and he just didn’t recover. When he looks like this, noting good comes of it.

Photo/Getty Images

The Pistons looked just awful in the first quarter and when the Magic went up 20-3 it was almost comical. Orlando was getting easy buckets, dunks and buckling down on defense to disrupt everything Detroit tried.

Rashard Lewis had a career playoff high 33 points and was simply unconscious knocking down 6-of-8 from downtown.

Howard had a big night too putting up 20 points with 12 boards and 6 impressive blocked shots.

It’s funny now that the game is over I remember wondering why Dyess or Maxiell weren’t putting up numbers. Now I know after looking at the box score that they weren’t on the court much. Maxiell played just 18 minutes while Dyess just 14. What’s the reason for that? Both went scoreless on the night and neither were in foul trouble. Was it because they used Walter and co. to mathup against the smaller guards? If it was, it didn’t work.

NBA.com Highlights of the Game.

Rip Hamilton started cold but quickly got going sparking the Pistons when they needed it. Rip led Detroit with 24 points on 10-for-20 shooting 6 boards, 2 takeaways and 3 assists. He was also responsible for 6 of the Pistons 10 turnovers.

Photo/Getty Images

If you can ever be OK with a win, I am with this one. “Both Teams Played Hard,” but Orlando gave it everything they had. Not to say The Pistons didn’t, I was happy with their effort in getting back in this one, they just didn’t have it Wednesday night.

What happened to all the Rasheed Wallace cut out masks? I didn’t see one in the crowd.

“We’re shooting for him to play on Saturday,” said Detroit coach Flip Saunders. “It’s sore right now [and] we won’t know for the next 24 hours where he’s really at, but all indications are we’re shooting for him to go on Saturday.” Via ESPN

Give it up to Walter, Afflalo and Ratliff who provided a much needed defensive spark. I only wished Arron got a little more time on the floor, he looked confident and his shot was going down. He finished with 4 points and 2 assists in 11 minutes.

Arnie Kander, the Pistons magical trainer, has 2 full days to get Billups up and running. Game Four is Saturday at 5 PM.

This one was so ugly I have no highlights for you worth mentioning or showing.

My guess is that Lindsey and Dixon will be in uniform if Chauncey can’t go on Saturday. That means Jarvis and Johnson will have to dress in their finest for seats on the bench.

The Pistons headed into the fourth quarter down by just 4. That Magic lead quickly grew and Flip threw in the towel moving his starters to the bench with about five minutes left in the game.

Solid Tayshaun Prince, who I wish got more touches. Tayshaun put up 22 points on 8-for-14 shooting and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the line. He took control of the point at times and did his best to get Detroit back in the game. He added 6 boards and 3 assists in his amazing playoff run this season. Lets hope for the Pistons sake he keeps on playing like royalty.

I sure wish Arroyo was on the floor more for Orlando, Detroit surged when he was in charge. I still don’t understand how he’s still got a job in the NBA, especially with those socks. I’m bet he’d do fine on the And1 mixtape tour, but come to think of it, The Professor would tear him up.

“Van Gundy gushes about just how talented and intelligent Detroit’s Rasheed Wallace is. “He changed their entire team. They were a good team, but they became a championship team and contender when he came (to Detroit in a trade). They’ve tried to give everybody more credit, whether it was Ben Wallace or whoever else. But nothing changed when Ben left (for Chicago). But everything changed for the better when Rasheed Wallace came. I don’t think he’s been given enough credit for what they’ve done over the last few years.” Via Florida Today – Thanks to the link from Ben Q. Rock at Third Quarter Collapse.

Detroit missed shots, didn’t get into the flow defensively and made easy turnovers giving the Magic open lanes, uncontested shots and wide open threes. Can’t win like that.

This was the game I thought they would drop, now they have to step it up and take the next two.

Pistons were outscored 30-15 in the first quarter.

Orlando shot 53% on the night.

Detroit never lead. Orlando’s largest lead was 25.

By the tone of everyone’s comments I can tell you are all on the same page as I am. Bad game, concerned about Chauncey, but know Detroit is the better team and will prevail.

The Orlando Sentinel Guarantees The Magic win the series if Chauncey’s out.

I know this doesn’t represent all Magic fans, but what Scanlac said in the comments really upset me. “I went to this game last night as I do every time that the Pistons play in Florida. The Orlando fans have no class when CB went down they cheered. I was called everything from cheater to four letter words just for wearing a Pistons jersey. I took my 55 year old mother to the game and Magic fans were throwing paper at her and some guys kept called her a f’n bi#$%. Not as bad as when I went to games in Cleveland, but still pretty bad. It just goes to show you when a team depends on so many bandwagon fans your going to get alot of low class drunks at the game.”

The Pistons will try to keep digging that hole tonight in Orlando. Up two games to none on The Magic a win tonight from the Pistons and Orlando will be in deep trouble. Orlando should come out strong and try to right what went wrong in Game Two, so Detroit needs to be on their toes from the tip.

I know there is a huge contingent of Pistons fans in the Florida area, so I expect to hear some cheer for the red, white and blue from the crowd. Detroit Bad Boys had a brilliant idea for all out of town Pistons fans. Matt is compiling a list from Pistons fans like yourself to see where you gather to watch games . So if you’re not from Detroit and want to watch Pistons games with fellow fans, head on over to DBB’s to see where to gather or make a suggestion.

Tip off is at 8:00 PM and will be Nationally televised on TNT. If you can’t catch it on TV you can always tune in to 1130 AM WDFN The Fan or stream it live through your computer at NBA.com.

This one should be good, leave ‘em in the comments.

There will be talk, talk for the rest of The Pistons – Magic series about the shot clock malfunction that allowed a three pointer to count for Detroit at the end of the third quarter that shouldn’t have. Chauncey Billups knocked down a 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds left in the third, the clock clearly stopped mid play and the officials weren’t able to look at the replay due to the rules. The refs were put in a tough situation and made what they thought was the right decision. The TNT broadcast however put a stopwatch to the play and it was indeed a couple of fractions of a second late.

It happens all the time, whether it’s a questionable foul call or an instance like this, but the fact of the matter is that Detroit is now up on The Magic 2 games to none after their 100-93 victory on their home court.

Key Points:

Yes, the Pistons benefited from a incorrect judgment call by the refs. I’ll be the first one to admit it, but if Rodney Stuckey pulled up and saw the clock at 2 seconds do you think he would have dished it to Chauncey? He probably would have taken the shot and hopefully made it. The Magic got hosed, but I can remember being on the other side of that call plenty of times, so I’m ok with it. Did it cost them the game? There is truly no answer to that.

“It sucks to be on the other end of that play,” said Billups, who had a game-high 28 points. “But I’ll take it. I’ll take it.” Via MLive

Tight first quarter that ended tied at 29.

Once again The Palace Crowd was loud as can be. I truly believe Detroit feeds off them, especially in the fourth quarter. You could barely hear yourself think late in the game, even when play was stopped the crowd was going nuts.

Foul trouble all game long for the four bigs who went after Dwight hard all night. Dyess was the only Pistons to foul out, and he looked quite upset about it. Flip Saunders on the other hand did the right thing by substituting Rasheed in and out of the game in the fourth quarter when he was playing with 5 fouls in case we needed him had the game went into OT.

Big night for Big Shot who lead all players with 28 points. Billups put a scare in the crowd, along with his teammates, when he went down hard in the fourth quarter after landing on his back when going up for a layup and being fouled. Though shaken, he got up and sank his two free throws. He was a perfect 10-for-10 from the line. Chauncey was big on both ends of the floor for Detroit.

Photo/Getty Images

The “Clock Play” via YouTube.

Detroit couldn’t quite contain Dwight Howard but his 22 points and 18 boards actually came quietly. He never really got a rhythm going and looked frustrated plenty of times during the game. They are huge numbers, but he did turn the ball over 5 times, maybe his hand really was bothering him.

If I could have actually punched something, besides my friend sitting next to me, I would have after watching the Magic knock down 7 straight three’s in the third quarter to take the lead for the first time in the game. The Palace crowd was shocked and shaken.

Was it just me or did the starters slack on the defensive end during the Magic’s surge?

After allowing the Magic only 12 second quarter points, the Pistons got outscored 36 to 28 in the third.

You will hear this a thousand times when referring to this game….Live by the three, die by the three. Hot in the third for Orlando and ice cold in the fourth from downtown when it mattered. Orlando was 11-for-26 from behind the arc for the night.

I must say it once again, and will keep saying it until it isn’t deserving – TAYRIFFIC! Tayshaun Prince put up a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards on 8-for-13 shooting with 5 assists, 2 takeaways and a really timely blocked shot.

Photo/Getty Images

And this…………..

Courtesy of The Detroit Pistons, The NBA and TNT

So good I knew you would want to see the full clip of the Dunk. Heck you asked for it in the comments on more than one occasion.

By the way, thanks for all of you who leave comments during the game. It’s hard actually catching everything like stats and calls when I’m in the arena. So getting your comments while you post them on my phone is very helpful. We in the Palace were clueless to what was happening at the end of the third with the clock.

Detroit’s bench outscored Orlando’s 13-4.

Big talk from Rashard Lewis who scored 20 points, but had to put up 21 shots to get them.

Hedo finished with just 12 on 5-for-11 shooting. He always looks like he just rolled out of bed.

Get ready to hear about the shot clock malfunction ’till you just can’t stand it anymore.

Stuckey scored 5 points and had 4 assists with a steal in his 20 minutes. He still looks a bit green, but he’s getting the job done when he’s out there.

It’s not like we didn’t love Maxie in the first place, but him stepping up since he’s been put in the starting lineup has been huge. Many of us wanted Maxiell to start for quite some time, but to actually see it happening and working just puts smiles on faces. Jason scored 11 on 5-for-5 shooting with 4 boards and 3 blocked shots. Does he have a smooth stroke or what?

Photo/Getty Images

Did I mention the key defensive plays he’s been making down the stretch?

When Herrmann enters the game you would think Isiah Thomas was checking in for the Pistons. Dude gets much love from the Detroit fans.

I don’t know about you, but this game was killing me. Call me a wimp, but I’ll take a nice blowout any day.

Sorry Theo, you did get posterized. Unlike Tay, who moved out of the way in the first quarter when Dwight was coming in for a thunder dunk, Theo took it like a man.

Rip struggled all game long going 4-for-18 for 14 points. Love Rip, but when he’s not hitting like that he usually doesn’t shake it off. I almost cringed when he took that three late in the fourth quarter, but it was the one shot he did hit. If fact that was the last field goal that Detroit made in the game, the rest came at the foul line.

Detroit’s last 13 came at the stripe, which they were 24-for-28.

Why did Detroit stop going to Tayshaun, he was HOT and I don’t remember him touching the ball in the fourth quarter.

Sorry Jarvis, Afflalo and Herrmann are in the front of the line now.

Mr. Wallace was on, shooting 7-for-10 for 17 points. He did his work defensively at times on Rashard and Dwight. Oh, and then there was this….

Courtesy of The Detroit Pistons, The NBA and TNT

Again, so good you’ll want to see the Tay to Sheed alley oop again, and don’t forget it all stemmed from a Theo block.

I was surprised by Turkoglu’s erratic three with seconds left in the game, but maybe you can chalk it up to the Magic’s playoff experience and ability to close out games. “The Magic called timeout to set up a play, but Hedo Turkoglu inexplicably broke off the play and fired up an errant 3-pointer. “I don’t know,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said of why Turkoglu did that. “I don’t understand that shot at all and nobody on our team can understand it either. Down two and a full shot clock. I don’t know why he did that.” Via The Detroit News

Arron Afflalo knows how to play in big games.

19 turnovers for the Magic to just 8 for Detroit. You can’t have 19 turns against a team like Detroit and expect to win.

Out rebounded 40-35.

NBA.com Highlights of The Game.

Maxiell shows Fratello his defensive skills.

Mr. D., who I mentioned before usually heads to the tunnel at the start of the fourth, stayed in his court side seat ’till the game was all but a lock.

Wednesday in Orlando, we are used to hearing plenty of Pistons fans in the crowd but this time I think they won’t have an easy time of it.

Third Quarter Collapse on the Magic’s side of the whole clock controversy. Sorry Ben, but it’s nice to see a class act. Had this been a game against Cleveland I cringe at the thought of the abuse the whole city of Detroit and the state of Michigan would take.

Plenty to say about this one, leave yours in the comments.
