New Toon and New Number for Ben Wallace

Posted on August 31st, 2009 by Natalie Sitto

Since the new/old Ben Wallace looks a little different from the last time we saw him in a Pistons uni, I thought it be best he get a tooning update. Now I didn’t feel it necessary (at this point just yet) to add the few scarce gray hairs I saw on his head.

So now that he’s decided on donning the #6 in the red, white an blue it only fitting I show you the new toon. Just wondering if the decision was as easy a 3+3=?

Thanks to team Need4Sheed member Mannie32 for keeping an eye on the Pistons Roster to make sure we didn’t miss it. Heck they didn’t even announce it over at Pistons.com yet.

We have a little update, from Brother Curlin in the comments… “This Yahoo page on the pistons has him as number 9 ” Hmmm… I’m going to go with Pistons.com over yahoo but you never know.

It’s Official – Old Ben Wallace is Back

Posted on August 13th, 2009 by Natalie Sitto

The Pistons made it Official with Ben Wallace and Eli Zaret does a nice job interviewing him for the Pistons.

Is Ben Pro FRO? It doesn’t sound like it from the interview but he does seem happy to have come full circle back to the place that made him so famous he’s got his very own plastic blow up doll.

Grow the Fro! Are you Pro Fro?

Posted on August 11th, 2009 by Natalie Sitto

I was getting ready to toon a Froless Ben Wallace when I thought to myself…

What was he thinking when he cut it off….

His Fro is Magic!

UPDATE: Just fixed this video…If you watched it before make sure you watch it now… and you will know why Ben’s From is Magic!

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

Personally I think he needs to GROW the FRO back, it will be like the fountain of youth for him on the basketball court and give him the ability to do things like this again.

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

If you’re in, Leave a comment in this post or Vote or Both. This will serve as a petition to Big Ben that we are  PRO FRO!

And if you are a twitterer… I’m starting a #GrowTheFro movement.

Let’s do this!

Ben Wallace so Cheap he made the Value Menu

Posted on August 7th, 2009 by Natalie Sitto

If you didn’t know by now Ben Wallace will be back in a Pistons uniform come seasons start.

The Pistons are signing Ben Wallace for the veteran’s minimum of 1.3 million dollars. Such a bargain that he turned up on Taco Bell’s Value Menu.

Don’t believe me….Click Here to Check it out.

Ben Wallace is Back!

Posted on August 7th, 2009 by Natalie Sitto

Via Chris McCosky of The Detroit News

“On a day when the Pistons signed all three 2009 draft picks, they also reached an agreement with one of their former all-stars.

Ben Wallace, the four-time defensive player of the year, agreed to terms with the Pistons on a one-year deal worth $1.3 million. Wallace is expected to sign the deal next week.

Wallace’s role in Detroit, however, is expected to be a far reduced one than when he left for Chicago in 2006. He will be the fifth big man and serve as a much-needed leader on a team whose average age is 25.”

I wasn’t really in the market for an older Ben Wallace but him on the roster for 1.3 million…..BAM! I’ll take him.

We are unable to FEAR THE FRO anymore unless Ben’s hair grows really fast.

Question of the Day….Does Stuckey give up the #3 for Ben?

Really – Big Ben Again?

Posted on July 14th, 2009 by Natalie Sitto

Ok, not the Big Baby rumors are old but guess who the Pistons are looking at to fill an oh so important roster spot. Big Ben….
A. Sherrod Blakely of MLive

“While there’s no deal imminent, the Pistons are going to explore the possibility of bringing one of the franchise’s greatest defenders, back to Detroit.

Detroit has about $3.5 million to use towards free agents, but would probably not use all of that to sign Wallace.

Boston’s Glen Davis remains an option, but the Pistons are reluctant to make him an offer because he’s a restricted free agent. And the Celtics have said repeatedly that any reasonable offer Davis receives – and Detroit’s offer would fall under that category – they would match.”

Now don’t get me wrong, I will forever be a fan of Ben Wallace.  I will celebrate that he brought this team back from obscurity with his work ethic and determination but……….

I just don’t think he’s got what it takes to play the game the way he used to.  His glory days are behind him and contrary to popular belief Arnie Kandor is a magician, but he doesn’t possess the fountain of youth serum in his bag of tricks.

We truly have started to rebuild so tell me how bringing Ben Wallace back makes any sense.  I’m putting it to a vote for you, but you know how I already feel.

UPDATE: Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press says the Pistons have no interest in Wallace.

“a person with knowledge of the situation said today that the Pistons are not looking at Wallace, 34, because his career appears to be on the decline.”
