  • Chris Bosh is a hero off court for a number of NBA players including Tayshaun Prince and Charlie Villanueva.
  • “Here’s what I don’t like so far: the guard play. I still just don’t see how John Kuester is going to balance this thing out and find the right combinations.” Jamie Samuelsen at the Free Press in his article: Backcourt gives reasons for hope and worry.
  • Jerebko learned to be a “Bad Boy” in Sweden.
  • Kwame Brown is looking good and Stuckey was impressive in Dallas.
  • Another non televised game tonight (Saturday)  in Memphis.  Good news, Charlie Villanueva is slotted to take the court  possibly with the (toe) slightly still  injured Tayshaun Prince .  Bad news, we won’t see it.
  • You will see this from CV-TV.. A great piece on who Charlie is and what he had to overcome to be what he is today.

  • Pistons fall in Grand Rapids 101-98, Bynum…ite lead the way with 20 while Daye and Gordon added 10 each and Jerebko put up nine.
  • Tayshaun Prince cut his toe in the loss and may not play against Dallas.
  • From Need4Sheed reader Brett Sanders who was in Grand Rapids for Tuesday night’s loss to the Wizards “I blame the loss on the flight crew / trampoline dunkers , they blew half of the net off then the Pistons didn’t get to warm up after the half and came out flat in the 3rd.”
  • Unfortunately we still haven’t gotten a glimpse of Charlie Villanueva but he’s hoping to play Saturday.
  • Jonas Jerebko is a bright spot in Pistons loss.
  • Austin Daye making the most of the preseason.
  • Kuester is a big hit with the players?????
  • Kwame Brown’s future is in his own hands.
  • Is the depth of the Pistons really that promising? I think it is.
  • Matt Watson’s Fanshouse Pistons Preview.
  • Watch it, this could be Stucktacular…..
  • Ben Gordon the anti Iverson “”I’ll play whenever they want me to play,” he said. “I’ve come off the bench before. I’ve started. It really doesn’t matter.” - Gordon ready to earn his contract.
  • I still miss my friend Amir Johnson, he’s making a great impression in Toronto. Good luck AJ.
  • Bynum has been impressive and he credits some of his success to Gilbert Arenas.
  • BYNUMITE Youtube highlight mix.

    • Bynumite impressed coach Kuester “I went after him specifically to say how much I was impressed with him,” Kuester said. “He changed the complexion of the game with his energy and scoring.” This season, Kuester sees a similar role for Bynum, a “spark plug” type of player off the bench who can change the flow of a game. “A person that’s not going to sit and let the offense come to him but he’ll attack offensively and defensively,” Kuester said.
    • Bynum looking to breakout in his contract year. I see good things to come from Will, who’s been such a pleasant surprise in the D.
    • Kwame Brown on Ben Wallace “Anybody that can play defense like that, I’m going with the mind-set that I can learn from him and take something from his game and add it to my game.”
    • More Allen Iverson Drama over at ESPN “They told me, straight up, ‘Allen we would never disrespect you or your career like that’ by making me come off the bench,” You know Allen, Pistons fans seem to recall a promise you made when you TOOK Chauncey’s spot and his number that you would do whatever it took to win a championship in Detroit.  If that’s skipping practice, bitching about playing time, and tanking your season when things didn’t go your way…..good luck to you in Memphis, you’re dead to us in Motown.
    • Laimbeer getting used to being an NBA Coach. “It’s a good feeling to see the guys respond to what I’m saying,” Laimbeer said. “This is something I’ve always wanted to do. A lot has changed since I played, but it’s still basketball, and it’s still about responsibilities.”
    • Dumars latest moves fall flat according to SI. Still talking about the cap space and 2010, did any of you think these moves would put us in Championship contention without another move made? Frankly I see it as a considerable upgrade to the mess last season.
    • Kuester starts camp in the D with D.
    • Daye, Summers and Jerebko fighting for playing time.
    • Does anyone else get the feeling Rip is not happy to still be wearing a Pistons uni?  Did you see his face in the Media Day photo’s? That’s not a happy camper. Plus I have update his toon with the new fauhawk.

    • The Ben Wallace to the Pistons speculation is gaining ground.
    • New assistant coach Brian Hill on board in Detroit.
    • Don’t miss the Pistons summer league wrap up on Sunday Night July 26, at 8 & 10 pm followed by a must see Special on the one and only Chuck Daly at 8:30 & 10:30 pm on Fox Sports Detroit.
    • Eli Zaret caught up with Chris Wilcox when the Pistons inked his contract.  Get to know him in if you already don’t.
    • For all of you who keep inquiring…Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva, Austin Daye, DaJuan Summers, Jonas Jerebko and the voice of the Pistons John Mason have all been Tooned. Wilcox is on his way and the sidebar with the faces will be changed once the full roster is set.
    • And by the way…you may not have been the only one who missed the Charlie Villanueva Toon….he asked me himself when he was getting one.  Little did he know he missed it…and FYI he liked it.
    • I was pretty sure Will Bynum was going to come after me with all the photoshop fun I had with his interview, but he actually loved it.  Thank goodness, I thought I was going to have to go into basketball hiding, which I would assume would involve me going to Memphis and covering the Grizzlies.
    • Summer League Video Highlights Austin Daye.
    • Summer League Video Highlights of DaJuan Summers.
    • Summer League Video Highlights of Jonus Jerebko.
    • Deron Washington is doing his best to make the Pistons.  Plus another YouTube classic from my friend Elie Seckbach with Deron.
    • Austin Daye let us know via Twitter that he signed his contract with the Pistons.  “@Adaye5: Just signed my contract haha great day about to head to Spokane fir a lil and see some friends…” If you were following Austin or myself you would already know.
    • Um…why didn’t I play in George Blaha’s High Hopes Golf Invitational? Pairing up with the Microwave would have been awesome. (Photos)
    • Chris Weber gives us his Fab Five Pistons.

Around the Way…..The what a glorious weekend edition.

    • To start off my weekend I ran into Steve Yzerman at Starbucks, and can you believe the place was packed and nobody but myself realized it was him? Besides my stalking charge it made for a beginning of a great few days, especially after two Wings wins!
    • Thank you Dwight for not only being a joy to watch, but taking down those awful Cavaliers.  Seeing the Magic stun the World and send the Cavs fishing was just the medicine that this Piston fan needed.
    • LeBron….a spoiled sport taking after those Bad Boys . I noticed him bolt off court right after the buzzer sounded and thought the same thing. “It’s hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them,” James said. (Hat Tip Matt Watson)
    • Pistons are the front runners for Carlos Boozer? “Apparently, rising free agent-of-choice Carlos Boozer is telling confidants he’s either going to Detroit or New Jersey — only way the capsized Nets pull that off is by doing a sign-and-trade. Word has it Jersey will have but three assistants next season and all must take pay cuts.” The New York Post (it is coming from Peter Vecesy so take it as strictly RUMOR)
    • If the Pistons actually pick up Boozer, can Arnie keep him in uniform all season long?
    • Sorry Chauncey.
    • Ben Wallace to Retire?
    • Walter Herrmann might return to Spain?
    • Great Pre-Draft roundup from Dave Dial over at MLive.

    • Go Chauncey.
    • Caveman…I was just talking about the Pistons trying to get Kaman out of LA. I wouldn’t mind a bit.
    • This is one thing the Pistons organization would never do. They embrace us… (Hat Tip to D. Wieme)
    • Pistons scouts busy agenda.
    • 24 years later, Joe D could face the decision Jack McCloskey made on him.
    • You know I am on a mission (and not this mission) to find the 80/90 ’s Pistons rap song that mentions Laimbeer, Mahorn, Isiah ect, so while I was looking I found this Gem.. A group of 3 brothers and a female cousin repping the Pistons after the 2004 Championship.

    • Another giveaway coming so stay tuned.
