Vernon Macklin sent to the D League

Detroit Pistons Vernon Macklin CartoonThe #Pistons send rookie forward Vernon Macklin  to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League.

Charlie Villanueva return from his injury has left Macklin without a roster spot.

I’ll be watching Macklin closely, I’m sure he’s going to make a splash in Fort Wayne.

Under coach Frank, we have a team with only 8 players, prince, maxiell, monroe, stuckey, knight, gordon, wallace, and jerebko

It’s also a reason why we’ve been winning recently. At the end of the season, I’d like us get rid of

Bynum, Wilkins, Charlie, Russell, and Daye.

If the coach ain’t gonna play them, they should go. It really feels weird to see that Macklin had to be sent to the Ants when Charlie came back, because . . . it sure doesn’t feel like we have 13 players.

Maybe we can ship all 4 for a draft pick.

Vernon needs playing time in the D league to see what he can do.
Bynum will probably be back as a bench reserve next year, but the other 4 will likely be gone. I don`t think you could get even a 3rd round pick for them.

I forgot there are only 2 rounds in the NBA draft.

I’d hold on to Russell instead of Bynum! Because unlike Bynum Russell is a pass 1st point guard and plays defense. But sending Macklin to the D league is a good move. He needs to play consistantly to improve! He’ll get that oppurtunity in the D League!

btw the nicks offerred to trade Lin for russell in february. Pistons said no way. Of course now it is out of the question, russell is going back to the D league and Lin has carved out a starter’s contract next year.
