The Pistons vs. The Spurs

The Pistons vs. The Spurs

The 19-32 Pistons will host the 42-8 San Antonio Spurs Tuesday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The red hot Spurs will be playing their fist game away from home on their annual “Rodeo Trip”.

The Pistons always play the Spurs well and Tuesday night should be no different. The Spurs split two difficult games with the Pistons last season, a 112-92 win that was tied going into the fourth and losing 109-101 in overtime at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The good: ICE4DYESS – possibly the last time we’ll see Dyess at the Palace.
The bad: Rodney Stuckey and Jason Maxiell are questionable.
The unknown: Will Rip Hamilton play at the Palace for the first time in over a month?

leave bg in the line up

    Go pistons

  2. Drew says:

Surprisingly, I hope Rip get to play this game. For some reason, I feel we have a good shot tonight. Go Stones!

  3. Sal Shino says:

JOHN KUESTER NEEDS TO GET FIRED! NO WONDER WHY THESE PLAYERS DONT KNOW THEIR DAMN ROLE ON THE TEAM. RIP PLAYS GREAT THE PREVIOUS GAME BUT THEN HE DOESNT PLAY HIM TODAY!

IF RIP WAS IN THE GAME, THE OFFENSE WILL BE MORE FLUENT, FOR INSTANCE THEY ONLY SCORED 14 POINTS IN THE 3RD QUARTER. BG WAS MISSING JUMP SHOTS AND SO WAS TAYSHAUN. SO AS A COACH PUT IN RIP MAN!

u cant get, mad, spurs are just way better, we had to double both duncan & parker a lot and the spurs of course shot a great 3 percentage because of that strategy but still 55% is indecent.

we by contrast shot the three at 27 percent, not a lot of ball movement either, but I think defensively we really decent against parker, jefferson and ginobli, but you pick your poison, this let dejuan blair score 18 and matt bonner score 10.

i think q did a pretty good job coaching this game. We fought hard and if austin daye had hit all his 3′s we could have won it.

This loss by the way doesn’t bother me as much as the palace looking like a damn ghost town. When the players ran up and down the floor you could hear their nikes slapping on the floor and echoing in the nearly empty building

      • Sal Shino says:

there was a time around 6 minutes where tim duncan was missing shots from the area of the free throw line, the spurs were missing shots in general and turning the ball over. And we didn’t capitalize in that 6 minutes where we could of taken a 5 point lead or more. But BG and Tayshaun, weren’t hitting the shots in the 3rd quarter as well, and for that reason we only score 14 points! in the 3rd

        • edt says:

come on, give some props to the spurs there’s a reason it was hard to score, they cranked up the defensive intensity. It’s not that the shots didn’t go in, that always happens when you face the spurs, but that as a team, we can’t get back after a missed shot or turnover so we don’t get points in transition. that’s been going on all season long, and doesn’t look like we are able to fix it.

you want to point a finger, that’s where you should be looking sal.

think about this . . . we had two and a half times less turnovers than the spurs. You’re right the spurs were constantly losing the ball. So you would think we would have two and a half times more fast break points right? Nope, even though we had almost three times less turnovers, the spurs still, on a MERE 6 pistons turnovers got 8 fast break points, while our pistons on 14 turnovers which should have given us something like 16-17 points, well we could only score 7.

But like I said, this problem isn’t gonna get fixed any time soon, it’s just the type of players we have, not real athletic.

          • Sal Shino says:

edt, your right bro, bc we didn’t turn the ball over much in this game. Another problem we can pin point to edt is we dont have a player that his role is have 20 points a game you know? Back in our hay day, we always had rip running off screen and chauncey passing to rip off the screen, OR rip kicks it back to chauncey. They were the prime of our offense! And sometimes in a grind out half court game, we would throw it down to sheed on the low block. And Ben wallace, played his D and rebounded the ball. The only one that you didnt no what your going to get from him was tay tay.

Thats another problem with this team. Ryan Fields, the day we were playing the Miami Heat a few weeks ago, he’s like the team has had 10 different players in leading scores all season, and the heat has had well 3, and we can guess who those 3 are. lol

Im like thinking, thats not good that we have had 10 different players in leading scores, and thats bc the players don’t know their role on the team.

  4. Sal Shino says:

HE PLAYS RODNEY WHO MISSED TWO BLANK POINT LAY UPS… LOL

WHAT A JOKE KUESTER IS LOL

  5. Jake says:

nat wat up wit stuck missing 2 lay ins?

  6. Sal Shino says:

NATALIE, THE PROBLEM WITH THIS TEAM IS THEY DONT HAVE A PLAYER WHERE THEY KNOW THEY NEED TO BE A 20 POINT A GAME PLAYER, I MEAN THE “STARTING POINT GUARD” TRACY MCGRADY DIDNT EVEN PLAY IN THE 4TH QUARTER. I MEAN HES THE STARTING POINT, SINCE WHEN DOES YOUR STARTING POINT NOT PLAY IN THE 4TH QUARTER??!?! DERON WILLIAMS PLAYS IN THE 4TH QUARTER FOR HIS TEAM, CHRIS PAUL PLAYS IN THE 4TH FOR HIS TEAM..

WHERE IS TMAC? KUESTER DOESNT KNOW HOW TO MANAGE THE MINUTES OF PLAYERS..

HE PLAYS JASON MAXIELL TODAY, AND ITS LIKE KUESTER WHAT ARE YOU DOING? CHRIS WILCOX IS PLAYING GREAT, WHY WOULD YOU BENCH CHRIS FOR?!!?

I PERSONALLY DONT LIKE JASON MAXIELL BC HES TOO SHORT AND HIS SHOT ISN’T THAT GREAT EITHER, AND HE GETS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF ON THE BOARDS, BY 6’10,6’11, 7 FOOT PLAYERS. SO I WOULD RATHER HAVE WILCOX OUT THERE WHOSE 6’10 AND THAT WAS PLAYING WELL ANYWAYS!

  7. Sal Shino says:

sorry about that tycoon, my keyboard was malfunctioning :-/

  8. junior says:

wilcox and rip have sore groins, that is why wilcox didnt play. im not sure rip would have if he was healthy.

  9. junior says:

glad stuckey is back hopefully he has the rust shaken off and can start next game he plays better with tmac then bg, plus we need his defense against the other teams starting backcourt.
